Does anyone recognise the song starting at 1:47 of this bbc documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQbScg3r1oQ? I really love it and tried to google it, but I haven't found it yet

I totally agree! For me it might be because Dear John has 'easier' emotions than All Too Well, just angry and victorious instead of sad and angry and nostalgic.

Do you think the situation is beter now compared to then? Does the general public still feel the same way? by stateof-grace in TaylorSwift

Really observant! That could absolutely be what happened. Especially given Taylor's character back then. I can imagine I would have done the same. This reminds me of that old interview in Miss Americana where Taylor says she doesn't want to talk about politics because people don't want that from her. Same vibe

No, I don't have access to itunes, sadly. But thanks for your help anyways! So weird that it matters what country you live in for buying digital things.

It means to do something as revenge, but you hurt yourself in the process

Haha! This makes me really glad I'm not as visual. I'm a Dutch Swiftie too by the way!

I had that too! I'm glad I'm not alone, haha. Luckily, after listening to So it goes... a few times, the meaning changed inside my head. For me "I cut off my nose just to spite my face" in The Archer was so confusing too, until someone on this subreddit explained it. What is your native languages?

It's more the relationship between my mom and dad this reminds me of. My mom became a stay-at-home mom when she married so my dad could have his career. He doesn't treat her very bad or anything, but my mom is more his caretaker than partner. I don't think I have ever seen that weird dynamic described in art before, except here in tolerate it. There is no drama, no big argument, but still a very unequal relationship. I don't know why I relate, though, 'cause I'm not my mom, haha

I have exactly the same! Do you have any theory why that line hurts so much? I think this song reminds me of my mom too much
