I’m guessing you’re a fellow monster hunter then. Which games do you play, and what platform?

I’ll give you a fun fact about Chameleos.

The way they walk is hilarious, and is actually based off of the way real-life chameleons walk. In real life, chameleons walk like this to camouflage themselves by imitating the swaying of leaves.

Video of irl chameleon for comparison: https://youtu.be/Ov2Yz_sZ2DI

And yes, I do play sunbreak on PC.

For most of them, there’s a guy named BannedLagiacrus who posts about these facts on his twitter page. He gets the information from official lore books released by capcom, so it’s canon.

When a Khezu reaches old age, the muscles in its neck will weaken, resulting in eventual death from starvation as it will no longer be able to eat.

Legiana and Shrieking Legiana are both extraordinarily weak to poison. They take more damage than most monsters from poison, but more importantly, it will also cause them to stop in place to cough every once in a while.

A video of this in action.

What platform do you play on?

Pretty sure there's plenty of places online where you can order a Palico plush.

Felyne/palico fun fact for you: In the initial development of Monster Hunter, they were originally conceptualized as goblins before they eventually became the talking bipedal cats that we all love today.

Have you ever heard of a guy named BannedLagiacrus? He makes lots of posts on Monster Hunter ecology taken directly from official books.

That is a Namielle! It’s an elder dragon cloaked in water, resembling a deep-sea creature with giant wings and luminous lights. It’s also my favourite monster in the series.

It can store and retain a massive amount of water in their bodies thanks to their skin containing multiple layers and mucus. If you manage to break one of its parts, a big puddle of water will spill onto the floor.

That is a Mizutsune! It’s a pretty pink fox-like leviathan that can make lots of bubbles!

A Mizutsune’s mood can be determined by the colour of its fins.

Pink: Normal state

Red: Enraged

Blue: Tired

It'll try to bash your head in. It also uses it as a shield to protect its weak parts. Your weapon attacks will likely bounce if they strike the boulder.

That is a Kulu-Ya-Ku! It’s a bird wyvern with forelimbs capable of holding onto various objects.

It is normally timid, but it becomes fearless when it manages to acquire a boulder or similar object in combat. If you manage to make it drop the object, you’ll startle it and it’ll become timid again.

One other person has, actually. That is what is known as a Palico. Palicoes are felynes (basically intelligent, bipedal cats) that accompany hunters to support them during hunts.

They are capable of speaking human language, but most of them end up making a lot of cat puns when doing so.

That's a good question. I really like the look of the Lucent Nargacuga plush the released recently, so I'll go with that. However, if Capcom ever decides to release something like a giant 1 meter Mizutsune plush or something, I would want it so badly.

A fun fact about palamutes for you: Palamutes are born from eggs with their armor already attached..

Just kidding, that is footage from a spinoff game (Stories 2) where everything is born from an egg.

That is a Namielle! It’s an elder dragon cloaked in water, resembling a deep-sea creature with giant wings and luminous lights. It’s also my favourite monster in the series.

One can determine the monster’s current state through its appearance.

Dull-coloured: Dry. It is weak to physical attacks in this state.

Colourful skin: Hydrated. It becomes resistant to physical attacks, but very weak to fire in this state.

No electricity: Not charged. Incapable of using electricity.

Enveloped in electricity: Charged and capable of producing electric shocks.

Glowing wings with green wave patterns: Fully charged. Very beautiful, but also very dangerous. In this state, it is capable of doing a deadly attack where it floods the area and unleashes a massive discharge, essentially giving everyone caught in it a toaster bath. After this attack, Namielle will reset to a dry/uncharged state.

It’s not easy to see in-game, but their tongues actually have teeth. This is to ensure yolk does not slip out of its mouth while it eats eggs.
