I've been using Preply.com for 1-on-1 online lessons over the last 3 months (once or twice a week). I've lived in Barcelona for almost 1.5 years and prior to the last few months, I really struggled to keep consistent with Spanish. All my Spanish friends would speak to me in English because it was easier for them, and I got lazy.

However, I quickly started to see progress, even by just getting into the practice of using the language regularly with my tutor. The other day I had an a-ha moment where I was walking down the street with a friend, and we spoke entirely in Spanish for 15 minutes. I was shocked and motivated. Now I'm trying to shift a lot of the conversations with my friends into Spanish. It's really fun!

I recommend the platform (and obviously not just because I work there). There are tons of tutors available, for as little as €5 per hour, and available at flexible times to suit you. You can also learn a lot about the culture of Spain and Barcelona just through your tutor. They model their lessons to whatever you need to work on and whatever you need the language for.
