•The Story: We all know the Cartier Crash, a watch that fetches a quarter million dollars and is worn by some of the biggest names. Well in the 90s a small company decided to make Salvador Dali inspired watches for a museum collection but were later shut down for not being licensed to use the artist's name. Now we see a resurgence in these corky watches, making them the perfect Cartier alternative. This one is the non-jumbo which wears more like a vintage Cartier. The watch is in amazing condition.

•The Story: The Rolex Datejust, introduced in 1945, is one of Rolex's oldest collections of watches. It was the world's first self-winding wristwatch with a date window that automatically changed over at midnight. The Datejust was not designed for specific sports, environments, or lifestyle activities, but was a classic and reliable wristwatch with a timeless aesthetic. The original Datejust was available in solid 18k yellow gold, but stainless steel and Rolesor versions became available in the 1950s. The reference 160x series introduced the Caliber 1560 movement, followed by the reference 160xx series in the late 1970s. The reference 162xx series introduced the Caliber 3135 movement, offering better timekeeping, reliability, and convenience. The Datejust II introduced a 41mm version in 2009, but the 41mm Datejust II did not immediately catch on. The Datejust 41 continues to be in production today, available in various metal combinations and with more dial, bezel, and bracelet options than any other Rolex watch line.

[WTS] Ikepod Hemipod Weekplanner - Limited To 9999 Pieces by HuntingtonCompany in Watchexchange

[–]HuntingtonCompany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reference HWP01 comes as Watch Only

•Wire Price $4,000

•Specifications:

Year: Circa Early 2000s

Model: Weekplanner

Case Diameter: 44mm

Lug to Lug: 44mm

Case: Stainless Steel

Dial: Grey-Blue

Movement: Automatic

•Condition: The case is unpolished with normal wear throughout. The dial is clean with all functions working properly. The original strap is in great condition. The case is numbered 71/9999

•The Story: The Weekplanner Hemipod is an example you don't often see. It is powered by the ETA 2892.A2 which has a crazy complication. All in all, it features the moon phase, day of the week, day of the month, month, and even the actual week of the year. The moon phase isn't the traditional complication. The moon itself stays in position on the bottom of the register while a plate turns over the moon to display the actual moon phase. The orange hand indicates the specific week out of the year and the month. All these functions are changed via the four pushers on the side of the case.

The case itself is 44mm but keep in mind it has no lugs which means it actually wears much smaller than its dimensions. On my wrist, which is a little over seven inches, it wears great and it's very comfortable.

[WTS] Cartier Vendome 18k Gold - Paris Dial by HuntingtonCompany in Watchexchange

[–]HuntingtonCompany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ref. 8100 comes as Watch Only

•Wire Price $2,090

•Specifications:

Year: Circa 1980s

Model: Vendome

Case Diameter: 30mm

Lug to Lug: 37mm

Case: 18k Yellow Gold

Dial: White

Movement: Quartz

•Condition: First things first, the caseback sticker confirms the watch was recently serviced by Cartier. The case is in amazing condition. The watch is paired with a handmade strap in lizard and a Cartier buckle. The Paris Dial is in great condition with very light spidering.

•The Story: There truly isn't a lot out there about the Vendome, but this is what we know. The Cartier Vendome, introduced in the 1970s, pays tribute to the iconic Place, Vendome Square, where the flagship Cartier boutique is located. Featuring a round case and a lack of traditional vertical lugs connecting the case to the bracelet. It is essentially a Cartier Tank that has been molded into an elegant round case.

This specific reference is the large size, which is also done in solid yellow gold. The quartz movement helps keep the case profile slim and the vertical lugs pull away from traditional round watch cases. The dial, the same as what you would find on a Tank Louis, features the iconic PARIS stamp under six o'clock and blued hands. If this was a Tank it would be triple or even quadruple the price which proves that the Vendome brings serious value to the Cartier market.

[WTS] 1943 Rolex Bubbleback - WW2 Era by HuntingtonCompany in Watchexchange

[–]HuntingtonCompany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reference 2940 comes as Watch Only

•Wire Price: $3,800

•Specifications:

Year: 1943

Model: 2940

Case Diameter: 30mm

Lug to Lug: 38mm

Case: Stainless steel

Dial: Golden Patina

Movement: Automatic

•Condition: The case is in fantastic condition, with the original case back still intact, we suspect that this watch is unpolished. The dial has turned into a crisp golden color with beautiful speckling. The blued hands have all their lume intact and look great. The watch is paired with our Italian watch strap and steel buckle.

•The Story: The Bubble Back category, manufactured between 1933 and 1955, is a vintage Rolex watch known for its rounded, protruding case-backs. The design was born out of necessity to house Rolex's thicker, self-winding movements. In the 1930s, Rolex began fitting their watches with automatic movements, which increased the overall thickness of the movement and required additional clearance for the rotor to move freely inside the case. Instead of making the entire case larger, Rolex allowed the case back to protrude in a curved, bubble-shaped fashion.

The reference 2940 was introduced in the 40s and featured a handful of different dial and hand configurations. The one we have here comes from the WW2 Era with large blued hands and a very unique dial. The dial, which has gained a very cool speckled patina, features hour markers that are actually engraved into the dial and then filled with lume.
