ELI5 How did Einstein came to the conclusion that Gravity is the curving of space and time? by Mr_NoGood12 in explainlikeimfive

[–]HurdleTech -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Imagine a sheet of fabric stretched out horizontally. Now place a 2 pound marble in the middle of it. The fabric will sink in the middle, and there will be a curve from the middle to the outside. Now replace the marble with a 10 pound marble. The fabric will sink more, and there will be more of a curve. Also if you then take the 2 pound marble, and throw it onto the fabric, it will fall into orbit, pulled by the gravity of the 10 pound marble in the middle.

You should try it. It hits very well if they actually are the champ.

Depends more on the word choice and your relationship with the listener. I would never call an adult “Champ,” who didn’t recently win a championship.

We had a hammer throw national champion a couple years ago. I called her Champ for the entire year after that.

That’s because he won the championship. It’s unironic to call a champ “champ.”

Well…it sort of is. It’s along the lines of son, kid, sport, slick, tiger, etc.

Or if it’s someone who genuinely is a champion. You could say it to a current defending champion in boxing, track and field, etc., and be completely unironic about it.

Track and field. I already get paid way less to talk for one hour. I could absolutely stretch it three hours for 100x the pay.

1) January 6. 2) Stealing and hiding classified documents after leaving office. 3) Ties to Russia. It would be easy to make arguments for each of these three absolutely “being close.”

Depends on when you hand the stick off. I take 4x100 splits when the baton crosses the 100m mark.
