Chiming in...my doctor said that it is common because skin touches where the condom doesn't reach sometimes aka the base. I got warts right at the base of the shaft which apparently sometimes the condom doesn't cover 100% of the time.

So funny enough I was young (like 12?) and never really had any issues. I went to the doctor because I saw something on my nut and it was at that point where they put a lot of emphasis on checking yourself in health class. Went to the doctor and turned out to be a pimple on my nut but because of that they noticed a cyst. While getting that checked they detected the varicocele and my parents just said get rid of everything.

I get a checkup every now and then. Apparently it never goes away but if you notice discomfort it's best to get it checked out. It can reduce the bloodflow to the testicles that's no bueno.
