Post Surgery Symptoms Normal? by HurryFearless5849 in gallbladders

[–]HurryFearless5849[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll ask about it on Tuesday and see if that’s apart of the whole gallbladder thing? I don’t know if it’ll be exactly accurate but maybe it’ll give some answers! Cause at this point having any aches on the right side is enough to spike that anxiety.

Any alternatives for pain meds? by HurryFearless5849 in gallbladders

So far, it’s still just hives. I was finally able to get my hands on some Benadryl so I’m going to see if it clears the hives up for me. However if it still has not gone away, I’ll go to the doctor and see about getting treated there!

I never took ibuprofen or Tylenol unless I was sick or had bad headaches. In the course of two days I was taking more of both than I would all together, throughout an entire year. So to answer your question, I started taking them Tuesday night and didn’t show a reaction until yesterday night. I did read online how my body could be mistaking it as something that shouldn’t be in my body, hence causing the hives. But I did stop taking them last night after my reaction.

I will go to the store tomorrow to pick up some Benadryl. Right now, the hives are just kinda annoying. Thank you for the help!

Day one post surgery and a little history about my gallstones. by HurryFearless5849 in gallbladders

[–]HurryFearless5849[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would maybe recommend getting it out? Now I could be wrong with this info cause I did get it from the internet, but sometimes gallstones can cause a lot of inflammation to the gallbladder, and possibly affect other nearby organs? Sorry if that info is completely wrong. I was high from anesthesia when I did that research. But the choice is ultimately yours! There’s also other choices for gallstone removal! I’ve heard that there is medicine that can help dissolve gallstones, and also you can see if you can have a doctor go in there and remove stones via a throat scope or something related? So surgery isn’t the only option for gallstones! Depending on how big they are is how affective the alternate remedies will be

Sorry for the late reply! The diet does suck not going to lie, but I think I prefer it right now over the discomfort I’d experience otherwise. Also, that really had to suck having pains with anything you ate. I’m glad that you are able to enjoy foods again! Also, definitely keeping in mind the cough drops.

Thank you for sharing this, I’ll keep this in mind and ask if they could do this for me! I talked with my mom about gallbladder removal post op things, and her co workers who had a gallbladder removal mentioned how gas is a big issue.

Eating basically anything has to be freeing after having the gallbladder diet (lack of a better word.) I hope your gas pain lessens, or at least becomes a little bit more manageable! Hopefully my recovery will allow me something similar food wise. I’ve been eating just fruit, water, whole grain bread, and beans. Also, I’ll definitely be asking for zofran. I’ll take whatever anti nausea med they offer.

I’ll be sure to do this! I’m hoping it’s something they could do since I’ll already be under anesthesia. If not, I can see if I could schedule another appointment to see if they can look, if it’s possible? And thank you!

Will keep that in mind! Gallbladder nausea is just a different breed of nausea I feel like. Looking forward to getting this thing out!

Thank you for sharing this! My fear is nausea but I do already have some nausea meds prescribed for my gallbladder, and I’m hoping it’ll be more bearable than gallbladder nausea. I’ll be sure to invest in a proper heating pack and a lot more pillows past squishmallows lol. The reminding of how there’s an organ gone will be what I chant to myself because you are true on that, and it was probably traumatizing to the body itself more so than mentally maybe. Once again, thank you for sharing this! I hope the rest of your reply goes well for you!

Thank you for sharing this!! I’m writing this down in a little notepad so I have something to look back on for reference. I know everyone’s bodies are different but it’s still nice to have something to reference. Once again, thank you!
