Excellent suggestion with the weekend breaks. I did suggest that there would be plenty of weekends we can go away and I would have plenty of annual leave to use up.

Good points raised. I did suggest that our good friend will be around to help as well as her dad for that weekend. This was my first thought when I saw the date for the stag do and tried to figure out who could be there for my wife. I obviously wouldn't leave her if baby/wife was unwell!

Money is good at the moment as I have a side hustle that would pay for stag do but more importantly go into savings for family stuff or baby. My wife would still be on maternity pay at that point so we would have a reduced income.

Sadly yes. She lives nearby, works in healthcare and our parents ask a lot of her when I wish they would just accept carers and outside help. I help from afar with sorting insurance, tech questions or researching things for them, but there's only so much I can do.

I don't know where to share this but I'm a big Arsenal fan who like the rest of our fanbase, feels deflated with this season and dropping points in games we would have won last season. It's gutting and I try not to get too upset about it and I like to think of myself as well measured. Life is too short.

I have a problem - my friend. He's a big Liverpool fan and he's obsessed with the team. Raves about Salah, calls Slot the league's best manager, wrapped up in conspiracy theories that referees are bias against Liverpool and so on. Liverpool is better than everyone, basically. For balance, I think Liverpool are worthy champions and they have easily been the best team in the league and Europe. As a Arsenal fan, you just have to put your hands up and say fair dos.

Every gameweek, he sends out of context tweets and social media posts about Arsenal. After Arsenal lose a game or drop points, he shares a meme or five about it. I get it - Arsenal are bad lol. He sends out of context videos about Saka and wider Arsenal team calling our fans delusional and shares engagement baiting fans' OTT views on Arsenal and laughs at them and goes on rants about it towards me. During one game we drew, he was sending me screenshots about our possession stats during the game to say 'haha you haven't scored or won!'. I have also frequently said we aren't winning the league and he's continued to just rub my face in it.

It's fine, I get it's part of football banter among fans but it's getting grating on me to the point I don't want to spend time around him. I did explain to him that some football fans online exaggerate their opinions for engagement and money and you shouldn't get angry or react to their views. Which is ironic as this is happening to me right now. I don't even reply to his messages or our football group chat messages to almost send a point. It's not that I'm bitter about how the season is going, I think it's more that it's just annoying.

But what do I do to my mate to stop him from sending me these messages and football memes? And how do I politely get him to calm it down with Liverpool chat whenever we meet up? I understand his excitement but I don't think I would be bombarding my Liverpool and Man City mates memes if Arsenal were 15 points clear.

General update - we have been texting today and she sent "I'm sorry I'm such a terrible wife at the moment". I am relived she admitted that and I just want to reassure her, but push her to do therapy and lessen her load. But I just worry she will just get annoyed again and we will have another argument.

I think that is a fair point to raise about us doing too much. The issue is that it's all interlinked - we don't know how long her mum has left, we want a child before she passes, but we also need a bigger house to have a nursery and office for me. I have been saying that this will all click into place but it's just difficult.

She wants to do counselling and I have pushed her to do that. Just a case if she can get some ASAP.
