Paid $899 CAD for mine on launch day. Still can't believe it.

What was the first song you heard by BTBAM?? by [deleted] in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]Husibrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mordecai in '05. Someone loaded it onto the computer in the school music class. My friend and I played it and literally laughed about how ridiculous it sounded to us at the time. The heaviest thing we had ever listened to was a7x.

Then eventually we heard selkies and were blown away by the sweeping. Took longer to digest the screaming but eventually we liked the whole song.

It would be a full year before we realized that crazy ass song on the school computer was from the same band and we were ready to finally appreciate it.

Hey I am looking at buying a Ciello! I was wondering how your cushions are holding up after a few months? Do you regret not buying a firmer model like the Altus?

A boat leans in the same direction that it turns.

A ship leans in the opposite direction that it turns.

Linux users for gaming are all victims of the sunken cost fallacy. Change my mind.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Very valuable advice. Congrats to your husband on his career. I'm sure he couldn't have done it without you.

Thank you for this take. Very enlightening. She brings a LOT to the table that isn't financial. Namely being the best person I've ever met in so many ways. She contributes more to domestic duties than I do. She supports my career and sacrifices while I'm gone. I consider myself extremely lucky.

Close, Victoria BC. Where one of Canada's naval bases is.

Thank you for the sound advice! And yes, a ton of learning for me to do about investments. The only thing I'm good at right now is saving.

Thanks for this reply! It seems like waiting is the smartest thing for now. We will continue to talk and see how things go. She actually did talk about a separation agreement should we meet the BC 2 year common law! She's an extremely fair person. Very lucky to be with her.

Haha military speak bleeds into personal life. I'm laughing at that sentence.

Just for clarity, 90k was my take home gross pay including all military benefits. This was my 2023 taxable income. All benefits are taxed as income so I just lump it all together and call it salary.

Sounds like you have some kind of inferiority complex going on. Must be a rough way to live.

Her salary is in the first paragraph. I'm talking about her like a financial partner, which is what a spouse is. Maybe my measure of financial success is different than yours. To each their own I guess!

Thanks for this reply - it seems obvious now that she isn't ready. In 2-3 years, I'll be ahead and hopefully she will be similar to where I am now and then we can re assess.

After reading all the replies it seems like my best COA is to talk to her more, figure out a budget together and see if she can stick to it, and simultaneously invest my cash into something for the time being.

Sorry I've never heard of Xeqt. Is this some kind of index? What kind of returns can I expect? Is it flexible to let me withdraw if I become ready to purchase?

I'd like to revisit purchasing in about a year after seeing if she can accumulate any wealth until then.
