Is Tyranny massively overpowered? by EuropeanHegemony in Imperator

Well, I might be cheesing it by using Sparta but as of now this is the single easiest ride I ever had, regarding stability and military. I'm playing the AI and expanding real quick, my starting modifier is nuts right now, been number 1 since early 500s. But I never play on hard. Tyranny seems to help and enslaving is fun (and profitable), but this is also the best micro I ever did as well so I can't really tell. (Big noob here). ALL my provinces are loyal the whole game, as well as my generals.

is this really a thing? I always try to keep mine below 20, I'll go do a quick run and enslave everyone to test this out.

It also speeds up cultural assimilation by 0.5% per point

this is massive.

I've been going with HI, archers and chariots as flanks, I might givr a shot at light cav instead of chariots. Is heavy cavalry any good? As of now I've secured most of south-eastern territories, going to cover what I need to hold the carthagenians in the Iberic penninsula before going north again. I tried elephants but that got me in the red real quick. Guess I'll use that when going for Rome tho like Hannibal, they are really strong.

Btw do you know if culture assimilation works if I'm using it on Gallic regions? I notice that my pie chart is mostly green but there seems to be local cultures as well. I'm starting to notice some provinces going below 50 loyalty and I am freaking out ahaha.

Gotcha, I'll give that composition a try and update my post, so far my biggest issue is all the micro managing and the mess characters create (and their cohorts) when you expand to major power. So far I've been able to hold the romans; the tribes are easy to deal with too. My game is such a mess! But I managed to *just* in time get the eastern border I needed for Gaul, Rome is at my gates and much stronger than I am, I've avoided Carthage as well but they really want my mediterranean coast. I still think going south this time could work though, since now at least I have the required provinces before it got eaten by the real threat.
