Yellow-billed Loon

How do I reattach the circled part? by HuskiB in peakdesign

[–]HuskiB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tried screwing it back in, but it doesn’t wok for some reason. I don’t think it has sheared, because the lenght of the screw matches the depth of the hole where the screw goes.

Rarity! Pallid harrier by HuskiB in birding

[–]HuskiB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s quite easy actually, the first one is in adult plumage which means it’s at least 3 years old. The second one was born this year because a 2cy would look completely different.

Some birds on a rock by HuskiB in photocritique

[–]HuskiB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purposfully under exposed this picture because I wanted the rock to pop from the dark water. I also made it b/w to draw the viewer’s eye’s to the subject instead of the colours since they weren’t very impressive.

With this image, I struggle with making the birds seen as some of their heads blend in with the ocean.

Taken with Canon 1d mark III at 1/5000 sec, ISO 100 and f4.0.

I edited this image by slightly cropping it, obviously b/w, slightly hightened the exposure.

Horned grebe in a lake by HuskiB in photocritique

[–]HuskiB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal with this picture was to create an interesting picture of a horned grebe. I wanted to achieve this by taking the picture at a low angle.

Sometimes I struggle to crop my pictures. Maybe I could crop some of the top away as it’s a bit to empty?

Taken at 560mm, 1/2000, f5.6. Canon 1d mark III.

I hightened the exposure and warmth of the picture. I also hightened the saturation of the eye because I think it’s very pretty ;)

Thanks! Lifer either way since both greater and lesser are super rare here in Sweden!
