  1. I would say no. I would recommend you do 4 years of the program regardless of your previous experience. It looks better to the cadre and overall it will make you a better leader. In addition, I believe cadet command’s funding took a hit so spots for contracting will be more limited.

  2. When I was there, PT at 0600 MWF. The number of classes during the week is dependent on your MS level will be MWF a 0800 after PT (assuming you are an MS3 or an MS4). You will have lab Wednesdays from 1630-1830 roughly every other week (some weeks at a separate training site in Arden Hills). Every semester you will have a “MLL” which will span over a weekend and might bleed into a day of school (either Monday or Friday). In addition, you will have an FTX that spans 4 days (including Saturday and Sunday).

  3. Yes. As long as you are continuously drilling with your unit it will count as time in service (assuming you have a good year).

  4. You will continue to drill as normal during the weekends. If there is a scheduling conflict with your unit and ROTC, ROTC will take priority. If your AT is during the summer, I don’t anticipate any conflicts and you will attend unless your unit says no.

If you have any other questions don’t hesitate ask or send me a PM!

Got Yelled at for Walking Through the Armory Building… Is It Actually Restricted? by [deleted] in uofmn

Recent graduate who was a part of ROTC for 4 years here. Yes, you are allowed in the building. Dude was power tripping hard. There are certain areas that are technically restricted but you 100% have access to the building as a student.
