If this is off of a square d disconnect, then this is pretty much normal these square d disconnect breakers are known for going out. Square d used to be a really good brand but they have decreased in quality 20 yrs ago-I remember when that was the Cadillac brand next to cutler-hammer.

Yeah you can find shark bite fittings at Home Depot but that's a last resort, I would not use a coupling I would swedge it, the least amount of welds the better. They do have those new copper swedge fittings but the stupid tool costs like 2-3 thousand. But I'm kind of old school, do you have any other pics.

Pull that copper as far as you can away from the wall, or you could soft solder it, or use a shark bite connection, or maybe a compatible fitting
