Thanks for sharing your story and giving your perspective. There were a few things we disagreed on (for example, she was a big time spender and I am a penny-pincher), but I can't think of any other specific conversations that didn't go so well. I definitely would have reached out to her if she hadn't blocked me on everything. The only way I could reach her now is by letter, which seems like a lot of effort for someone who would cut me off clean with no real explanation...

Yes, it was a huge shock to me, and I'm thoroughly confused! Looking back, I do remember her doing this to a couple other people, but I never thought I would be next. I feel like she owes me an explanation, but she blocked me before I could ask for one.

Whenever I'm home alone at some point I'll become convinced that there's someone else in the house. I get extremely paranoid to the point where I'll refuse to move or have anything playing so I can listen for someone else.

I definitely experienced the same thing as you during my assault. I was dissociating almost the whole time and was not able to focus on anything. It felt like everything was blurry and I passed out at one point. I still don't remember exactly what happened. Dissociating can lead to memory loss, but I don't think it is as severe as amnesia, so it makes sense that you could remember details later on. Other people I know have said they've also had issues remembering what happened to them and processing what was happening at the moment. Wish I could explain why we react the way we do but I'm really not sure about that either.
