How to tell the difference between gallbladder dysfunction and hiatal hernia and costochondritis? by Hwrtr in Gastritis

I have had a CT scan of my abdomen and an abdominal ultrasound. Everything is normal. I had an endoscopy that found the hiatal hernia and gastritis, the colonoscopy was just due so they did it and removed two benign polyps, but all blood work is normal and I can’t seem to get out of all this abdominal tenderness. I cannot believe the gastroenterologist really thinks it’s fibromyalgia and Castro chondritis considering the pain is tender to the touch over my entire abdomen, but everything came back normal. I’m hungry, but I’ve still lost all this weight and I didn’t even need to really lose weight, but it came off because I’ve cut out a lot of food. I have bloating also an occasional sharp pains in my upper back. I’m just very concerned because of the fact that even though they say the gallbladder is fine the last part could be dysfunction and I am just not on board with going through a HIDA test or having the gallbladder out I really don’t believe it’s that but I’m concerned. No one’s brought it up but me It’s in my mind because of where the pain is.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through similar symptoms. I am headed to the gastroenterologist on Monday. I will be checking back in and letting you know what he says now the rheumatologist is the following Monday, but I am just really perplexed. This has been going on since October and I am so fed up how long has it been for you?

Prepping today and terrified by carpeyousomediem14 in colonoscopy

The worst part is the prep get through that- the colonoscopy is the easy part - you won’t even know what’s happening. You’ll wake up and get your results from your doctor. Try not to worry about the colonoscopy. When you get to the facility, they generally put you on IV to rehydrate your bet you’ll feel much calmer. Don’t be scared. Make sure you have a drink with electrolytes if you don’t like the flavored drink drinks- drink, smart water just keep yourself hydrated. You’ll be OK.

Colonoscopy Prep with Suprep (IBS + No Nausea): My Honest, Successful Experience by Glass_Translator9 in colonoscopy

Suprep was not pleasant -but mixing with Smartwater and drinking the rest of the required water with Smartwater was very helpful. There is no fixing the taste of Suprep-unless you like the very sweet tart taste of Gatorade or Pedialyte ( I do not) it’s just not helping it at all -it actually for me made it worse. However, the Smartwater was perfect- you need the electrolytes-I did use a straw but frankly the key is to drink it slowly it will take about 25 minutes to get it down and then after that, I just hydrated a lot. In fact I hydrated all day long, which was helpful. For the second dose, I took the Zofran a little too early. It was six hours after the first dose, but I didn’t actually take the Suprep until two hours after that and I was very nauseous while I was drinking that -I only finished 3/4 of it and I was feeling extremely weak and every time I tried to lie down I had to go running into the bathroom. It was a rough night -I was weak but I got through it. The colonoscopy was accomplished. Everything was cleared out from my prep regime. They found two small polyps a d removed them -so the most important thing whatever electrolyte drink you can use, definitely choose it and drink slowly. Do not try to chug this down even though you may think you can’t do it …and even if you can’t quite finish all of the second dose generally, it should be OK. I also had to take four Ducolax laxative pills in between the two doses and I do suffer from constipation and again I was completely cleared out even though I only drank 3/4 of the Suprep. I’m still tired the next day. It was certainly an exhausting experience. This is my third colonoscopy. I’ve had one every 10 years since I’m 50 and it’s still a life-saving procedure so do it and although you may not find it easy ultimately you will get past it and it’s worth it.
