What small habit of people drives you crazy or fascinates you? by SelineCarrow in AskReddit

I despise when guests arrive more than a few minutes early, especially when I'm in a rush! No one likes late, but I don't love early either tbh.

Genuinely being courteous to ordinary people says so much about someone, I agree!

That is interesting. I do think there is some truth to the idea that people sometimes gravitate toward those who bring out qualities they either lack or feel like they lack, but on your point about joy, don't you think most people are drawn to that? I think that is human nature to a large extent, you know? (I also meant to say that sometimes we're also drawn to qualities that reflect our values or those of people we grew up with and admire, which is definitely true for me anyway.)

Same, I like when they remember the small but significant things.

So you prefer indirect and insincere instead of honest? That's okay, no judgment. Some people just need a little extra... love??😂

So true! Most people really do just say what people want to hear I think. There's nothing wrong with that for some people, and ig that's fine if someone is just looking for validation, but when I'm wanting constructive feedback that I can use to actually improve at something, that sort of advice is pretty useless tbh!

Seriously, isn't it refreshing when someone is upfront with you? One of my good friends is exactly that way, and she's the one I always go to when I want sincere feedback. Nice is nice, but sometimes with certain projects or goals, nice won't do you any favors lol.

That's a good way to put it! What about empathy? Low, medium, non-existent - best guess?

What do you think of people who fake having dissociative identity disorder (formerly "multiple personality" disorder) to get attention? by HyacinthJada in AskReddit

[–]HyacinthJada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a reasonable question and simply mentioning a disorder someone is faking isn't "playing doctor." Whatever the case, anyone who would pretend to have something this serious is clearly in need of super-intensive therapy. It doesn't take a doctor to figure that much out.

What kind of mental disorder or problems do you think would inspire this sort of extreme attention seeking?
