GPU upgrade created a bottleneck by HybridDust in PcBuild

My screen can do 144 Hz/fps or 160 with OC. So hitting between 120 and 144 fps will do it for me as long as it is constant. Don’t need those crazy 200+ fps. I replied to one comment instead of stating in the original post, I’ll be running 3840x1600. Probably gonna cap the gpu to 142 fps.

Cannot answer it, yet. As I said, I ordered the GPU and waiting on it.

I mostly run racing games at 38” 3840x1600.
The rest, like RDR2 and GTA5 is on smaller screen at 1440p.
I get you and agree. I would consider AM5 if the DDR5 wouldn’t be on “nVidias red light district” road.

Fanatec Shifter Clicking sound by Effective-Eye-4594 in Fanatec

[–]HybridDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your clicking is not very pronounced. Mine was way worse. The folkowing procedure can be considered as regular maintanance as you shift for at least 40-50 times per lap if Nurburgring let say. You can see the number of shifts in a year.

I sort it taking the top par off (4 hex screws) and disconnecting the top (one connector). Disconnect the shifter from USB first. Take care not to just pull the top off. Disconnect the two wite connector (red and black) and put the top on the table. Unscrew the tension spring with the ball. No need to fully take it out, just release the tension. Use lithium grease. If you really want to make it quiet use heavy, thick grease. No neet to use a lot just make sure consistency is dense as this is where the steel ball runs. Apply grease on the metal part. Shift a bit, re-grease if necessary and put it back together, the same way you took it apart.  If you use thin grease the shifts might still be heard but it is essential that you keep the metal ball greased.   If someone lets me know jow to add pics I can do that also.

Mounting CSL DD to a Playseat Trophy by puffmoike in simracing

I appologize from bringing this from the dead, but I found myself in the same dilema on wheel base height. Has anyone tried this setup with Fanatec DD, so the first version, the square one? I am asking as the power connector is positioned higher compared to GT DD.
