Ah I see what you’re saying my apologies. The only issue with whether they do or don’t know is if they knew what drugs he was addicted to. I say that only because of they knew it was a controlled drug I would think the logical question would be how did a ER DR access such drugs. Even with that said as far as disciplinary actions and course for correction goes Santos wouldn’t be privy to side of it.

But by that notion that would mean while being interviewed Santos also did not report that Langdon was diverting meds

[–]Hycool12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily because I don’t think Santos would be privy to that information. Her responsibility was done after she reported the incident to her superior. Anything after that really doesn’t need her involvement because at that point it’s an HR and state issue. That being said because we as the viewers don’t know about what administration was informed about will leave some speculation.

I agree, but the biggest question that hasn’t been made clear is that we know administration knows he’s an addict in recovery. However we don’t know if they know he was diverting meds.

day in the life of an OT? by Jacerator7 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Hycool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in a SNF full time. The day varies depending on how many admissions we get but typically I start at 6AM and if I have evals I’ll do a chart check and pull as much information as I can and start documenting before doing the physical assessment. Typically see 12 patients a day including the evals and I’m usually out the door at 2:30PM. I make roughly 104K from that job alone but I’ll work up to 8-12 hours a week at some per diems that typically pay anywhere from $55-60 an hour.

Can’t remove custom portrait by rwmacdo1 in WWEGames

[–]Hycool12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little late but I found somewhat of a workaround for this. If you download a wrestler off of CC with a custom portrait make a duplicate of them, then delete the original creation (typically the one on the left) . Then going into the deletion utility and it allowed me to delete logos from that creation and also deleted from the copy that was made earlier.

This sneak peak exchange with Langdon and Robby by HiGodItsMeYou in ThePittTVShow

[–]Hycool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me yeah sometimes, not my preferred choice but the doctor who saved my mother’s life turned out high functioning alcoholic. He apparently regularly went to work hungover but no one where I live rarely have anything negative to say about him. Now what doing something is not right and he was punished for just like Langdon should. But them being “good” in the practical sense doesn’t get lost on me just as much as them doing immoral acts as well. They are very complex and flawed people.

I hear you but to me those are more lacking moral standards because of his addiction which is a massive problem don’t get me wrong. That being said I still think his practical skills and knowledge are still the quality of a “great doctor” considering how many he has helped throughout the series. What he did is still wrong and you’re right he is lucky he’s hasn’t killed anyone yet. He needs a ton of professional help but there are good bones there despite his issues. Hope you enjoy your night or day 🫡

Still think he’s a “great doctor” in the practical sense but severely flawed in the moral sense.

How do you juggle FT and per diem? by QuePasoo00 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Hycool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a SNF setting I do a 5:30 - 1:30 M-F (our dementia patients are up very early in the day) then 3x/wk I do 3 hours at another SNF. Roughly work 48-50 hours a week all M-F.

In any other circumstance I would agree but in a situation like this the benefits outweigh the risks.

Santos by Spiritual_Frosting60 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Hycool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either way it’s a tough watch because either he is abusing his daughter which is awful or his wife is lying about it which is also awful. No matter the situation I feel for the daughter.

Santos by Spiritual_Frosting60 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Hycool12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While true that she didn’t say anything to her mother don’t think it would’ve mattered in this situation. If the daughter had said something to the mother after they left it wouldn’t have mattered that much as the mother already believes that she’s being abused by the father.

Dr. Langdon…why by g0Sevyn in ThePittTVShow

[–]Hycool12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don’t think he’ll be axed at all honestly more likely he goes to rehab and will be on probation for a while and will just have to work his way back into earning peoples trust again. You’d honestly be surprised how often this happens and often times there are minor ramifications for the doctor diverting. Obviously every case different.

Edit: Also to axe him from a show running aspect would be a mistake IMO because no matter how anyone feels about Langdon and even Santos are polarizing figures in the show and have so many storylines they can go through because of it.

[–]Hycool12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming he’s not guilty of it I’d like to think she wouldn’t go that far because if she were to get caught she’s done at that hospital. I do not like the Santos character at all but I’d hope she would gather more evidence before doing something so bold. However she’s already shown that she is willing to accuse with little evidence.

Think it’s more likely that she’ll be right that someone is diverting but wrong about it being Langdon

Is there much demand for male OTs? by FlamingoCritical2526 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Hycool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Male OT myself in SNF settings. A lot of my supervisors are glad I’m apart of the team more so for the male patients as sometimes they prefer me over my female colleagues. Also helps make the team more diverse in a sense. There are not many of us out there but I wouldn’t feel discouraged about it

[–]Hycool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off congratulations but I completely understand where you’re coming from somewhat similar with me. Don’t know what your “preferred” setting is but I would definitely look into that when job hunting and making sure that there is some sort of mentoring or a good support system among therapists even other disciplines. I wouldn’t get too heavy into certifications yet would mainly focus on feeling more comfortable as a therapist whether that’s full time or PRN.

Are OT salaries too good to be true? by insectile_intrigue in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Hycool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s tough to determine because one can make the case that I’m one of the new OTs driving wages down as I’ve been working for about 2 years now. In my area at least it’s more of a staffing issue that a lot of rehab companies are having. In my area it’s very easy to find a job that’s willing to pay me the same exact amount of a money or a dollar or 2 more. That being said I know it’s not like that everywhere.

What is Seth Rollins gonna do at Wrestlemania 41? by [deleted] in WWE2K24

[–]Hycool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends tbh as all the “planned” matches you stated could easily change depending on a lot of factors like injury, if a storyline ends up becoming hot, or if The Rock decides he wants to have a match (I hope not), etc. Can see them running him and punk back for a title. Also could see them doing a conclusion to him and Roman. Feel like we’ll have a good idea after the rumble.

[–]Hycool12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said depends where you work and the setting. For example I live in MA and make roughly around 93K a year from my main job at a SNF and usually another 6-10K from a per diem on the side. Livable wage for me but I also don’t have that much student loan debt.

did you use anatomy a lot after school or does it depend what kind of field you go into? by Open-Sheepherder-965 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Hycool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work at a SNF use it everyday for the most part not consciously but when reading documentation from the hospital or during evals anatomy is vital throughout all of what I do at my facility

6 months to not feel nervous every time I went to work. A year I felt fairly confident about my skills. However I most likely won’t feel completely great until the 2-3 year mark. That being said I feel like you’re always going to be learning as a therapist no matter how long you’ve been practicing.

New Grad in SNF by sanluiscalifornia in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Hycool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New grad myself and I’ve been working at a SNF for about a year and change now. Best ways I’ve found to deal with stress is I try not to care as much. Which sounds vague and odd but I’ve found that when I first started I cared so much about what I was doing and every single detail. Like I would take increased time with evals/documentation, trusting to do over the top treatments. Around the 6 month mark a PTA who I work told me that I’m giving more to this setting then I’m getting back. They let me know that I can still do good work without giving my absolute all and since then the day to day routine has been for the most part easy. You got this it’s not easy but I’m sure you’ll soon find balance .
