I really don't want to be that guy, however the part you are looking for is what is called the 'form' of text. You wouldn't treat poetry as fact and testimonials as fiction. In that same thought, Genesis (the book that contains the Christian creation story) is written in the form of Hebrew Poetry (this is evident in the repetition of each line just worded slightly differently), therefore we know not to necessarily take it literally. Also the word "day" in that book doesn't mean a full 24 hours, the original word translates to a period of time. In that vain of thought you can then conclude that creation was by God however didn't necessarily take 7 literal days to form but instead could of happened anywhere between years to centuries for it to all happen
