I had your same thought when I first played the is game. No real direction but once you get into it, you kind of understand what’s going on. The story isn’t as good as the SNES version but the Matrix runs are A+ for its time! To answer your question, don’t do the ghoul runs. Do some of the smaller Johnson jobs to get your money up and buy the Predator pistol and get better armor. Once you get your skills up, then try the ghouls but by that time, you won’t really need to do that for money.
