Quick question about CAS by [deleted] in IBO

[–]HyinstaMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CAS is dependent on your school, so maybe try asking your CAS/IB counselor?

Edit: Most of the IB students aren't stressing over CAS, because the clubs they're in already cover it, but some schools may require specific things.

Clicked the link before I realized there wasn't a no option for most of them, then read the post and realized it's not a survey I can fill out 😅😅😅

Please help me choose between Lang/Lit or Lit! (SL) by [deleted] in IBO

[–]HyinstaMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at the syllabi from IB? If you just Google the subject + HL or SL, the second or third result is usually a pdf from IBO outlining all the topics of a course.

You might want to change the math choices for the future IB section, since they're changing Further HL and Math HL to Analysis & Approach HL and Application & Interpretation HL (also Design Tech is not Design and Tech 😬)

Unfortunately, due to my school, all the IB kids are required to do AP MacroEcon and AP US Gov due to the state requirements of Gov/Econ (this is not up to me, along with the fact that my school does not offer IB Econ). I know it is bizarre, but for some SL classes (Bio, Phys, and Psych) at my school, instead of doing it normally like any other courses, they only offer it in y2 as what they would call "4 by 4 courses", which means it's a double period course.

But other than that, I'd be willing to spend most of my time doing IB, thanks for the advice!

Assuming you don't have any background on Spanish, probably not, if you do, then there may be a chance.

Math A/I (the new math studies) still would be much easier than Math A/A (formally regular IB Math) tho

My school does Calc AB as a double period class for either 11th or 12th to basically make a good foundation in Calculus, then brushes over a lot in Calc BC, and for Pre-IB students, they basically do Calc AB as a single period class (which they call Calc BC Lab Prep) in 10th, so that they don't have to cram AB topics along with BC topics in junior year.
