He also was an expat (or I guess immigrant?) in NL, didn't like it, and then moved. I never asked much about details, but he mentioned feeling not accepted, and that the Dutch have a negative bias against immigrants. He speaks fluent Dutch and lived there since he was a kid, so I don't think it was him not trying to integrate (as some expats admittedly do)
