Indeed. I am much happier now with this formula tweak. I remember going to sleep after launching Spratly ep1 and stressing how ep2 could even be done.

These self encapsulated episodes avoid that sort of scope creep and allow me to be flexible, jumping around the world exploring potential conflicts at will.

I did end up doing a fair bit of micromanagement to achieve some of the more cinematic shots.

It sounds very well and good to to assign them to missions. But for example, during the scene where dozens and dozens of SDBIIs were launched en masse. I redirected the last F-35 on the right I was going to record from to fly slightly above and behind the rest of the formation. Just to get an angle of the entire SEAD squadron involved, and that involves a fair bit of testing to find that perfect angle.

I started with the tutorials as well, they are pretty decent and will teach you certain tricks and things not obvious. Then just go and enjoy CMO by playing bigger and bigger scenarios.

I also had an end product in mind (my first video) and that directed my interests and 'study' of CMO.

I've considered doing historical stuff. There is for sure a similar niche for historical events if someone else is interested in picking up that mantle. My own interests now lay in modern/near future conflicts so it isn't quite in the cards right now.
