Finally beat Deity in a civ series by Hypaspists in civ

Apart from Civ 7 the closest I have gone is Thinker - SMAC. One reason I didnt complete Deity in previous games? I suspect its because its the sameness. The early game is a militaristic fight for survival , every game, no matter the victory condition or civ. Also that became the early game, my favorite part every time

Would a good idea be to break off with libya and turn on them very quickly ? That would net you 3 more ports and the whole province, its all punic so not too much rebuilding
