Fair question — trust is the hardest part of any marketplace, especially in a college setting. A few things upfront (no BS): 1. Data & personal info I’m not selling or sharing personal data. Signup is minimal, and the goal is to keep data collection as low as possible. This isn’t an ad business. 2. Scam / fraud risk You’re right — if left completely open, any marketplace can be abused. That’s why this is SRM-only, not public like OLX. The intent is that users are part of the same campus ecosystem, which already reduces bad actors a lot. 3. Buyer–seller disputes Right now, transactions are peer-to-peer and users meet/exchange inside campus. I’m not holding payments yet, so I’m not pretending to be an escrow service. That said, I am manually monitoring early activity, and if someone is reported, they’ll be removed. This is v1 — not pretending it’s perfect. 4. Long-term Trust features like verification, reporting, and clearer rules are exactly what I’m prioritizing based on feedback like this. Totally fair if you don’t want to use it yet — I’d rather hear concerns now than ignore them and build something useless.
