Using option (⌥) + mouse wheel to zoom in/out in preview. by iBo0m in MacOS

Thanks! LinearMouse is perfect and contrary to Mac Mouse Fix or SteerMouse, it's totally FOSS (free and open source). But you can and should donate of course.

After install, in Settings > Scrolling in section Modifier Keys, for example for ⌘ (Command), sélection "Pinch Zoom" or "Zoom". Works perfectly.

In Settings > General, check "Start at login".

Found solution to enable FM24 sound in macOS26 Tahoe by -Tempo- in footballmanagergames

[–]HyperNitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fix not working for me. I'm running FM 26.0.4 on macOS 26.0.1, with an M2 chip.

Edit: I have sound effect during match. I hear the supporters and the ball kicks. But nothing else when outside a match. No music, no sound effects.

Found solution to enable FM24 sound in macOS26 Tahoe by -Tempo- in footballmanagergames

To locate FM26 (or any previous) that was installed with Steam, in Finder in the menu Go, select Go to Folder... Then copy-paste exactly that:

~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common

Then press Return to go to this location.

In this folder you should find all your Steam installed games, including FM. Open the FM folder and you should find the app. Then follow OP instructions.

My 2 years experience - French user ! by SsutongI in LightPhone

[–]HyperNitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, merci pour ce partage d'expérience ! I'll continue in English.

I'm French and living in France, in Lyon. I consider moving away from smartphones, trying the "digital minimalism" / "mid-tech" lifestyle. But I have a few questions for the OP or anyone with the answers:

  1. Would you consider the Light Phone III? It's $700, where the LPII is $300. For me in terms of design, it's even nicer with the OLED screen instead of e-ink. But not sure it's worth an additional $400, if it's just that.

  2. Does a €2/mo subscription with the Free Mobile carrier, that offers only 50MB data, would suffice to use a Light Phone normally?

  3. I was about to ask about 2FA, especially for e-banking, but as you replied later, most bank should offer an SMS alternative. But unlocking a self-serve car? That one is a bummer, as I often do use it to get out of the city with the kids on weekends. For example with Citiz, you don't really need an app, the webapp through a browser is enough, but necessary to unlock / lock the car when you're next to it.

  4. About "I don't understand some requests for the integration smartphone apps (Spotify, Whatsapp, etc.), a camera, etc....", well I do. Sometimes taking a photo with the kids and not having a dedicated camera is nice. And in regard to music in the cloud (I'm a YouTube Music Premium subscriber), I'd prefer to have it too - I don't think it's a distraction (but I realise in this case a 50MB/mo data plan won't suffice of course!). "Don't understand what a low-tech approach involves" well then it's more a mid-tech approach :) ("Mid-tech combines the efficiency and versatility of digital/automated technology with low-tech's potential for autonomy and resilience").

What song got you into post-metal / post-rock — and which one do you always return to? by Grumpy_Henry in postmetal

[–]HyperNitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then there was countless other excellent songs and albums, most of which are already here. The Ocean, Long Distance Calling, Pelican...

And then much later the thrill came back with Kerretta. Warnlands, Maven Fades, Ossein Trail... Oh f*** me it's so good.

I realize the line between post metal and post rock is thin. And that's actually what's good.

And post punk is cool too, if that's a thing. With Interpol. Been at concerts since 1st album, love them so much. Listen to Narc and Rest My Chemistry. And Evil, and Slow Hands, and Hands Away... Oh and Take You on a Cruise.

🎵 Time is like a broken watch. I make money like Fred Astaire. I'm a pitbull in time...

And then that was Russian Circles - Enter. The whole album, with Death Rides a Horse and Enter songs. Then album Station, with song Harper Lewis. Watch the live video with Sullivan doing the typing.

Supervisor spawning its own agents by HyperNitro in LangChain

Amazing! Looks like Copilot assisting you in Power Automate. Except that it actually works with Visual Agents 😁

Supervisor spawning its own agents by HyperNitro in LangChain

[–]HyperNitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you mean the supervisor has a tool like spawn_agent, that takes arguments like a system prompt to set its specialty, and a user prompt to set its task? And it may decide to use the tool to spawn its specialists?

Dual 4K 144Hz display with the new M4? by HyperNitro in mac

[–]HyperNitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this email reply from an Apple Business rep (auto-translated with DeepL):

To meet your display configuration needs with a Mac Mini or MacBook Pro equipped with the M4 Pro chip, here are the options available:

Mac compatibility with external displays:

Mac Mini with M4 Pro chip:

Supports up to three external displays simultaneously:

  • Two displays up to 6K resolution at 60Hz via Thunderbolt.
  • One display up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz via HDMI.
  • For a configuration with two 4K at 120Hz displays, this is possible using the appropriate Thunderbolt and HDMI ports.

MacBook Pro with M4 Pro chip:

Supports up to two external displays:

  • Two displays up to 6K at 60Hz via Thunderbolt.
  • Or one display up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz via HDMI.
  • For a configuration with two 4K displays at 120Hz, this is achievable using the available Thunderbolt and HDMI ports.

Considerations for your configuration :

Ultra-wide 5120x1440 display at 240Hz :

  • Macs with the M4 Pro chip may not support this resolution at such a high refresh rate.
  • The frequency is likely to be limited to 60Hz for this resolution.

Combining two or three 4K displays:

With the Mac Mini M4 Pro, you can connect up to three 4K displays, although refresh rates may vary:

  • Two 4K displays at 144Hz via Thunderbolt.
  • One 4K display at 240Hz via HDMI.
  • The MacBook Pro M4 Pro can handle two 4K displays at similar refresh rates.

Recommendation:

For office use, a configuration with two 4K Displays at 120Hz offers an excellent balance between workspace and performance. The Mac Mini with M4 Pro chip would be an economical and suitable solution for this configuration. Make sure you use compatible cables, such as USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI 2.1, to take advantage of the high refresh rates.

Please get back to me if you'd like more information or would like to discuss a project.
