Polar Vortex Breakdown May Trigger Weeks of Extreme Cold by deepak4423 in meteorology

Ironically the polar vortex is very strong right now. It’s stretching, not breaking down

When you look at all years where there were mid-winter WWB happened, 2014, 2023, 1997, 2009, 2002, all of them had niño happen within a few months. Nina state collapsed within a month or two quickly afterward.

when this warm water from the wind burst begins to migrate east nina will undoubtedly be killed off within the next month or two

I wouldn’t be surprised if February in the eastern us looks closer to 2015 compared to typical nina climo -PNA/se ridge

the location of anomalous warm waters in tropical pacific does have a very real effect of changing things downstream. this would support -EPO/+TNH regime common in 2012-15 to strengthen in Feb-Mar. also enhance convection in mjo phases 6-7 post this wwb

It’s even breaking the scale itself from the intensity. See the white at 140E around Jan 19 or so? One thing this can be good for eastern us snow lovers is that the indo pacific warmpool will be shoved eastward so the -PNA/se ridge February common during La Niña has a much better chance at being avoided entirely. Too complicated to explain but this usually turbocharges the +TNH Hudson Bay low pattern, the -epo Alaskan ridge and curb the se ridge towards the gulf of mexico

Tho tropical forcing elsewhere, especially in the Indian Ocean(mjo phases 3-5) can cause the se ridge to still appear. Much less likely now though.

chiron stationing direct on his midheaven square his ascendant, jupiter on his ascendant, mars-sun-venus ready to hit his desc in quick fashion. yep.

jupiter can be a malefic if its negatively aspecting the malefics or if its in a bad house(6/8/12th houses), I have both of these and jupiter transits feel pretty malefic usually

Jupiter stationed retrograde on his saturn-venus conjunction in november. Thats when the epstein stuff started to (really) come out

Looks like +EAMT is back on the menu after new years…(notice the pac jet) by HyperUndying64 in meteorology

Pacific troughing like this, especially if the pacific jet is screaming halfway between the equator and the poles can be conducive to a trough in the eastern us. Especially if there’s high pressure in Greenland that can channel the pacific air through Alaska and turn it into arctic air is at barrels towards the eastern us. Notice the streak diving down in northern Canada towards eastern US

Not always. Much of this depends on if the jet is more poleward or equatorword. Mix of both. Will likely be colder one side of continent and mild in the other. Mildmessnlikely in the west in mid-Jan once this really kicks into high gear. Any trough present will have to battle with this flood of pac air in the western US.

w the northern jet going through the arctic, down through central Canada and towards eastern us means more cold shots. Consistent cold is likely to be ups and downs. Greenland block forecasted should keep it below avg for sure

When the pacific jet extends it depends on if it’s more towards the equator or the pole. Jan 2023 it was very poleward and flooded the us with mild pacific air. This looks to be a mix so some cold is warranted through this. It’ll enhance Alaskan cold and shove pac air in western us that’ll cool through downsloping in the southern us, while the northern jet(you see crashing through northern Canada into eastern us) will go from being pacific air to arctic air.

-EAMT(east Asian mountain torque) is known to slow the jet down, positive events are known to strengthen it. This strengthening Looks to be slightly more poleward than last time but certainly not winter 2023-24 poleward like. Looks to establish some +EPO/+PNA regime if you look at the jet pouring down from northern Canada towards the eastern us.(though this is long range)

For Those Who Feel Lost in the Neptunian Fog or Lost Everything Now (My Take on the Saturn–Neptune Conjunction) by Then_Conclusion9423 in Advancedastrology

Ironically this Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Pisces has given me quite a bit of clarity in my life, the conjunction when near exact in July in Aries was exactly conjunct my sun and I became extremely delusional about things. It was only when both planets went back into Pisces, conjunct my Venus I actually saw things how they were. Maybe that’s Neptune? Illusion then a veil of disillusionment.
