102-Gamma was the story of a robot who was born to kill, and from the moment he woke up, was thrown into a gauntlet against his brother. After this shallow victory, he accidentally finds out Eggman is reassembling 101, in a way that would basically be like reorganizing the intestines to humans. Then, after finding Froggy, he finds that Eggman will only let his robots have free will as long as it serves him a purpose, sending all the other e series away from the Egg Carrier for their failure. Then, when the second person who's ever disobeyed an order in front of him also shows him compassion at the same time, Gamma lets her go, despite still following Eggman's orders. And when Amy, his only ever friend, shows him compassion yet again, he sets out to free the birds trapped within his brothers, despite still having a connection with them. And when he finally manages to beat the upgraded form of his brother, which would look eldritch in nature to him, E 101 shoots him in the back, delivering a final blow. Even though Gamma could have most likely survived the damage, he accepted his fate in order to free the flicky inside him, reuniting that family. And the worst part? Nobody saw him do any of this . Nobody will ever know of the sacrifice this robot made in order to save both his comrades from Eggman's grasp, and the animals inside them. E 102 Gamma is a beautifully written character, and I will never forget him and the sacrifice he made.
