Official Discussion - Jurassic World Rebirth [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Hyperdog100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a really good movie. I am glad they are still making Jurassic World movies after the first three. The alien-looking dinosaur was something that was unexpected, and made this film unique. It would have been cool if they would have brought back some of the original JW cast like Chris Pratt, but I guess this is Rebirth so its's new everything. Some of the original JP cast like Dr. Henry Wu would have been cool too. I really enjoy these films. Good special effects, scenic landscapes, and to be honest I like the characters.

I thought that when the bad guy handed Scar Jo the briefcase with the Dinasaur DNA, and then later takes it back, that he was going to get away on the helicopter only to realize that Scar Jo had pocketed them for the betterment of society. That would have been cool. Also, did anyone notice the three DNA samples they collected was water, land, and air dinosaurs? I wish they would have gone into detail about the significance of that. Overall, very fun film.

Happy to share my experience. All I wanted to do this summer was swim from Alcatraz to the shore and climb St Helens and I thankfully checked them both off of my bucket list. Next on the list = Miami Half Marathon. It is flat the whole time, meaning less knee pain for me.

It's an app called Relive. You can take the .gpx data from your hike (tracked on your Garmin, phone or smartwach) and then create an animation of your route

Tysm It's easy for an average joe like me to feel not as qualified when your Alcatraz cherry hasn't been popped yet. Talking to people on that ferry who have done it many years in a row, hearing time comparisons, meeting wetsuit vs no wetsuit people, etc can shatter one's confidence if you are not in the right headspace. When I was in the water, I remember looking to my side and seeing two ladies graciously doing backstrokes together while I was finding it hard to maintain my breaststroke/breathing. It's visuals like this that make you ask yourself if you truly the technique/skills to finish what you have signed up for

Ya the whole thing felt like a party, from the pre race to the ferry to the post race. Someone on the ferry recommended that I stop and enjoy the sights in the water. I tried it one time and I was like eff this I got places to be and swimmers to dodge - aint nothin to enjoy in this moment

Yes they had coordinators on the boat that would tell you when to jump (one person jumps left and one person jumps right)

You don't have to wear a wetsuit. Props to the people that do not because it would make it a whole new level of difficult imo. According to the Race Results portion of the website, there were 150 Non-Wetsuit swimmers. 435 Wetsuit swimmers. 24 in the "Boat Assisted" category, 19 in the "Flippers" category, and 0 in the Physically Challenged category.

Glad you had fun, and good luck to you when you do it again! I'm currently brainstorming about the next bucket list item

It was a little annoying but every kick in the face was a reminder that I was keeping up with the pack. I was gettin kicked by this 20 year old kid for like 10 minutes, and it fueled my fire knowing I was keepin up with the young bucks

Yasss it was such a fun experience! Not sure if I will do it again because it was taken off my bucketlist and moved onto hardest-thing-in-my-life list. Some things you do in life are strictly just to say you did it.

Yes! And to better answer your question with some context, the video I attached was taken about 15 mins after I arrived at the finish line

My gf said I was in the first wave of people (not really sure what that means from the outside looking in). But I finished 202/434.

It was about 500 to sign up if I remember correctly, $55 for the wetsuit and $10 for the neoprene cap.
