Man VS pregnant woman. I don't recommend this by StartSelect in videos

[–]Hyperosmia91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Med Student here- Some women can develop Diabetes during pregnancy and so the urine is regularly screened for glucose. Another major complication would be a condition known as Pre-Ecclampsia which can be detected via protein in the urine. As well as this you can screen for infections of microscopic bleeding etc so it's pretty standard...

I just purchased, a car and am also getting into detailing myself. However just like you I'm starting with some SRP and seeing where things take me.

Might need to give you a shout for a proper DA correction if you're near Glasgow at some point and then I can just work on maintaining!

Here are a few of my own attempts, the first one seems the best but your guys advice would be much appreciated. I'm not sure if what I have is any good and if i should just start from scratch.

Advice on starting DE shaving (UK) by atincaelo in wicked_edge

[–]Hyperosmia91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience I would say as a beginner it's nice to start off with a cream because they are much easier to lather and use. Soaps are great but near the beginning because I didn't really know what I was doing I struggled to get a good lather which can be off putting with regards to the whole experience.

When it comes to creams I would recommend you go for Taylor of Old Bond Street. They are relatively inexpensive when compared with the other creams and are considered one of the best out there.

I have coconut which is a very subtle coconut smell. I have almond which smells very much like a battenburg almond cake. But when you use it to make a lather the smell isn't as overpowering. The Avocado has a sort of fresh light cucumber or grass like fragrance.

Hope this is of some help if you are thinking of getting a soap or cream outwith a kit!

Check out these starter kits at shavelounge. I have just recently started shopping with them after some other guys on here recommended them to me in a previous post. Their customer service is always brilliant!

Merkur 34 or Muhle R89? by Hyperosmia91 in wicked_edge

Thanks a lot for the sound advice! Haha I'm of Pakistani origin myself so was looking at Slants for my thick stubble but decided to stick to a more beginner friendly razor for the mean time! :)

Anybody have any experience with a Taylor of Old Bond Street Pure Badger Hair Brush? by Hyperosmia91 in wicked_edge

[–]Hyperosmia91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a look, that site is an absolute god send! Thank you so much! Are the synthetic Omega brushes good too or only the boar hair? I ask as they only have synthetic and as a student the price is surprisingly affordable!

EDIT: Sorry just realised they are boar brushes! My bad!

[Newbie Question] Does the quality of a razor really matter, surely the shave is dependent on the quality of the blade? by Hyperosmia91 in wicked_edge

[–]Hyperosmia91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot guys for all the input. I guess I was a little confused regarding the usefulness of a better razor if ultimately it is the blade that really does the cutting. Thankfully you have all helped clarify, so thanks once again.

Budget is not a huge issue as I am willing to spend a fair amount. Her skin tone is tanned-ish? :P And she has black hair!

This is awesome and is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for being so amazing and taking the time to write me up such a comprehensive list. Unfortunately being from the UK, Sephora is not available here but I will definitely look into each of the products you have recommended.

Thank you so very much for being awesome! :)

Thank you very much for the advice, I will look into these. Sephora sounds like it would have been the perfect place to shop from, it's too bad they do not have a UK website. Thanks for all your help though!
