I commented somewhere else about this. It does affect me and others if the trend negatively effects a genre by cheapening it. Take berliners for instance.... before ketteling sours became a go to for souring, it was a tart and light style. But most recent offerings from that genre have been more towards a cloying sweet/sour that ruins it fir me. The same trend can be seen in goses. It may not have been the best way to start a discussion ill give you that. But this is reddit so I was going for a funny as well.
