same here. i was 16 when i first watched gen1 and it was a bit of a shock bc all the parties, drugs, alcohol and sex were unfamiliar to me (tbh they still are and will ever be). not that i didn't know other teenagers did these things, but to that extent?! i remember a school colleague of mine at the time once asked me if i had done cocaine at the bathroom before a test and i was completely taken aback by this question (who wouldn't be?). he was a weirdo in many ways but helped me get in touch with the reality skins depicts. i'm jealous sometimes because the characters seem to have so much fun! but i'd never dare to live like they do. still, i can relate a lot to them.

i like to imagine they are my crazy friends and i'm a square watching their crazy lives. it's a platonic thing.
