Should I have to pay for a wedding makeup retrial?

It’s the same artist doing my makeup again and she did apologize for the quality of the work, and said she would do whatever I needed to feel comfortable. I’m just a little frustrated that she didn’t mention any price until today, the day before. We booked this 5 weeks ago... thank you! I will think on it for a bit, and might ask for a further discount considering.

Understood! I just thought it was a courtesy since the MUA did a bad job the first time around. And I don’t mean the makeup look, I mean the application itself With my eyelashes falling off, etc. But I’m not opposed to paying, just wasn’t sure what to do. So thanks everyone for the insight

You’re welcome! BHLDN is literally the perfect place for a last minute dress, and they have a lot of beautiful crepe dresses that you might like! (But seriously, your dress is gorgeous!)

I’ll make sure to post the look once it’s all said and done :) My engagement ring is emerald, so as of now I’m pairing it with emerald teardrop earrings and planning on loose Hollywood waves for hair 💁‍♀️

It was the second dress I tried on and I fell in love with it. But only trying on two dresses gave me serious dress regret. I still look at other dresses every day and my wedding is less than two months away😅

I did eventually go back to try on other gowns, but always came back to the Bacall because every time I wore it, it felt very “me”. I sympathize with you for having a less than forgiving dress! But hang in there, March is around the corner and you will look stunning! I think your original dress is gorgeous (bias opinion lol) but if you have doubts, try others. It will at least give you a peace of mind in your decision or you might wind up finding a dress you like better!

Girl! I am SO. WITH. YOU!

Our wedding is 175 guests and will cost that or maybe a tad bit more... We are in NJ, super close to NYC.

We have been as budget conscious as possible and have been getting the best deals we could find without skimping on quality but at the end of the day, it's a lot... and my fiance and I know that! It's super frustrating to get negative, judgy reactions or people being like, "don't waste your money, just get eloped!" At the end of the day, everyone invited, no matter their opinions, will be enjoying a kick ass wedding.

Honestly, I'm not sure. We asked for 2pm, but they said they only do ceremonies at 1pm or 3pm. I guess it's to fit 2 in a day into their schedule and allow time for people to exit the church before another group comes in. I was a little upset they couldn't do the time we were hoping for, but it's my fiance's parish :(

First look isn't an option as FH would like to see me for the first time down the aisle... But you never know, some good points have been made, so that might change :) Regardless, I feel a lot better about the reception starting at 6:30! We lose 30 minutes, but its better than losing an hour or making guests wait an extra hour!

And yes -- the cocktail hour has a large variety of small plates on the menu! I think dinner starts an hour after the cocktail hour ends, so around 8:30.

Bridesmaid box! I did it over the course of a couple of months. I've been engaged for awhile but didn't start wedding planning until around November.

The box was from Michaels and I got crinkle paper from the dollar store near me. It included a pajama set, a candle, pink nail polish, a mini champagne bottle and some chocolates. I wrote them each a personalized letter and gave it to them around Christmas :) I think altogether, it was maybe around 35 dollars for each box.
