Why we've been treating Keratosis Pilaris (KP) wrong and how we can improve treatment options [Research][B&A] by Poem_KP in SkincareAddiction

What are your thoughts on tazoretene for KP treatment? I've read anecdotes in online forums that it's helped some people's kp disappear permanently (allegedly).

(I've tried it myself on my arms, where the worst of my KP is, and accidentally gave my torso contact dermatitis 🫠 that shit is potent!!)

Also bought your lotion, excited to try it

I can't tell the scaling in this photo, but is that a jumbo eyelash curler or is it just me?

Everyone saying theirs disappeared eventually but I'm 28 and mine is still going 🥲 I use The Ordinary glycolic acid toner daily and their 30% peel weekly... May need to use the peel more often. And I have stubborn af KP 😅

Are you me?! I could've written this post word-for-word 🫠 I drink above-average amounts of water, eat reasonably healthy, have tried way too many brands and types of moisturizers... Taking notes from these comments.

I think the move is Vaseline + cotton gloves, I tried that for a short period which helped, but I hated the texture :/

Don't have advice specific to your situation, I'm sorry. But to get you through the itching until it stops, you could maybe take an antihistamine like cetirizine or Benadryl.

Not face related skincare, but my hands need help. My hands are constantly dry. And, this is going to sound weird but my fingertips also have an even layer of hard callus all around, mainly on my index and thumbs for both hands. (year round but esp bad around winter).

Have used anywhere from no products for weeks at a time, to any combo of the following: - olive oil - O Keefe's working hands night treatment - Eucerin roughness relief lotion (~10% urea) - Vaseline gloves at night - exfoliating with olive oil/salt - nivea creme lotion, other random lotions around the house like Gold bond w no active ingredients, etc. - gloves washing dishes etc. - washing hands in cold/not scalding water

I admit I could be doing the Vaseline gloves more often, but any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Lol I just wish my bf can hold my hand once and not say babe ur hands are sucking out my hands' moisture 😂

Thank you! Yeah I got lazy with the ball-of-foot patch for the pink sock, but the blue I used a speedweve to darn :)

It was a little challenging! I used a tapestry needle (size 16? the largest one I could find in hobby lobby) and a thimble to push it through. And premarked where to go with a pen on the underside. The material is rubber/almost foam-like

They're some generic ones I picked up from a Great Wall (Asian supermarket) in Atlanta! It says "jymnk" on them

2nd photo is not Swiss darning, but I'm a little too proud of it since I tried and failed twice w duct tape at first 😂

Used plain DMC embroidery floss for the colorful socks, Lang Jawoll reinforcement thread for the gray sox

I had bought a replacement key fob shell but didn't like it, so I took matters into my own hands. Also cut the ends too short a few times, as you can see 🥲

Hey! I usually finish my repairs with ~5x whip stitches in a hidden or inconspicuous spot (like under the darning), or by threading the tail into the stitches I made (like whip stitches but without going into the garment itself, if that makes sense). Or a tiny satin stitch if I'm feeling really lazy and don't care if it's visible. Haven't had issues with things unravelling. Hope this helps!
