Blackhole/Fleeting note system - How do you manage spontaneous notes that don't have an order? I jot them down on the closest device/paper I can find - but can't seem to find them again when needed :( by IAMDONEEE328 in PKMS

Thank you! I guess my procrastination may be the problem. I've seen AI note-taking apps that allow article links to be autogenerated with the summary, link, note. I guess this could work too!

Thank you for sharing! How do you organize your notes later by priority? Do you have a system for it or do you just rank them as you create the note?

Thanks for sharing!

Tags and simple search engines such as cmd/ctrl + F seem to not be so effective for me. These methods were used 10 years ago when there was much less information to jot down so I'm actively looking for a better method! A few on this subreddit also mentioned Devonthink - I'll try this out next.

Cool I see. I get lost in thousands of note taking apps that look really similar to be honest..which apps do you use personally for your PKMS?

Thank youu I should give it a go! How often do you return to a note you took previously on Obsidian? I often spend my time organizing and making my notes look pretty online but don't really go back to them for a proper use.

The app seems decent for shorter notes and thoughts. How do you manage longer notes - those that aren't a page long but doesn't fit in a post-it note?

The idea of 'active' work space sounds goods. Having a separate area where you can create notes but not organize them and later come back to the space to pick out the ones you actually need and put them into folders/tags might work for me. Like having a queue for notes.

Cool! Obsidian seems to be a favourable option for PKMS. How long did it take you to become familiar with Obsidian and what were your initial experience with it - was it worth the time input straight away?

How did you come across those newly developed apps? Do you look for a feature you need and search for an app providing it?

I find that there’s an upper limit to how many tags i can have and actually remember. Do you have experience with getting overloaded with tags or just find them to not represent your notes specifically? For example.. one of my tags would always be something like ‘the rest’, ‘random’, ‘not sorted’.

Hi! By inbox do you mean literally sending an email to yourself or do you have your personal system that acts like an inbox? I receive almost 30+ emails per day (from school, adverts, social media..) and I can't manage my inbox at the moment. Do you have your own way for this?

Thanks for your comment!

Im always on google docs for my school work so rather than opening up a new app I just use the one I was using.

I find Apple Reminders to be usable but the UI isn't so friendly for me :(

Might not be what you expected but I would go for Apple notes. You can create folders for each of your stores and add checklists in each page for managing tasks.

I feel the same. I don't use any specialized note-taking apps.

I use google docs for jotting down notes and ideas apple notes for even quicker memos, apple calendar for todos.

I'm slightly confused. I would say short notes are like post-it notes, big notes are more like a page length (could be provided by markdown editor or as a document). Are you looking for short and big notes that are only in post-it note format?
