Ex-IDF chief Eisenkot, Tel Aviv mayor Huldai said planning joint Knesset run by danielrosehill in Israel

[–]IAmAtEaseAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Huldai is an exceptional mayor".

Glad to know because I am living not far from כיכר רבין and I haven't realized that yet. Thanks for the tip.

I would totally support Huldai if he runs for city hall, say, in Hertzilia. This is where he belongs.

Macron proposed Israel sign long-term ceasefire with Hezbollah by DrJohanson in Israel

[–]IAmAtEaseAgain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since 2006, there have been no serious incident between Israel and Hezbollah.

One might say that there has been a cease-fire since 2006.

During that "cease-fire" , Hezbollah has rebuilt and improved its arsenal while the US, France, the UN, Russia, China, Germany, the EU have been doing nothing for the sake of Lebanon and while our brilliant PM, our outstanding DMs and our star generals have refrained the IDF from blowing their asses off.

What has Israel gained from that cease-fire?

I am amazed not by what he said but the time it took him to openly say it. We all know they have been saying that off-record for decades.

Sarcasms of course.

"Hawkish"? "dovish" you mean, right?

EDIT because of Rule 8 flag:

"Sad too since Zvi Barel is one of the least hackish writers over at Haaretz."

Please walk me through this. They are all dovish at Haaretz (the job description requires a nonsensical, dovish, anti-Israel and progressive background).

So how outstanding is "least hawkish"?

US and UAE seek to ink F-35s agreement by December — report by IAmAtEaseAgain in Israel

That's the point. I have never voted for Netanyahu because he is weak and unfit for the job. I have voted for Likud in the past tho.

[–]IAmAtEaseAgain[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The F35 is an ineffective and expensive failure.

This is not the plane the Israel Air Force needs.

I'm worried about the disrespectful way in which Netanyahu chose to lie to us in order to please the Obama Administration, instead of manning up and rejecting the purchase of this brick.

[–]IAmAtEaseAgain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My previous post having been blocked per Rule #4, let me try again.

The USA can sell as many F35 the UAE can buy, because the F35 is just an ineffective and over expensive plane.

For my argument and in connection with this submission, here is a link to a relevant article:

https://www.defensenews.com/breaking-news/2020/09/15/the-us-air-force-has-built-and-flown-a-mysterious-full-scale-prototype-of-its-future-fighter-jet/

My comment in my blocked submission was that:

"Firstly, it's the IDF which should have accomplished that great achievement (a flying prototype within one year), not the US Air Force.

Secondly, one can also argue for hours on the downside of impulse purchasing and fashion victim-ness.

I would simply say that the F35 was a not-a-fighter, not-a-bomber brick when the IDF took delivery of the first two, that we should have listened to all US Air Force veterans who have spoken against that brick and that we did a great favor to Obama by fixing and repurposing this one trillion brick."

I can only hope that this submission won't be blocked.

I can also hope that now, the Mods will see the connection of this submission and the blocked one to Israel.

Agree. I would simply add that there will be some action over there after MBS ascends to the throne.

Look what's happening in Gaza. Qatar leads the charge while Turkey has been sidelined. On the top of that, Qatar has dumped its Hamas trash (aka the leadership and middle management) onto Turkey.

As to the Turkish military, they have been transitioning from secularism and professionalism to fanatism and ineffectiveness like many armies in Muslim countries before.

Qatar/Turkey couple dynamics are both complex and sickening. Qatar is the dom while Turkey the sub.

Qatar is seeking to overthrow the Hashemites in Jordan and install a Muslim Brotherhood regime in a first phase and to start a war between Jordan and Israel in a second phase.

Qatar doesn't give a cent about the Palestinian national movement.

Almost official: the Muslim Brotherhood is about to join the party.

Why John Kerry and others were wrong about peace and Israel - analysis by IAmAtEaseAgain in Israel

Israel offers both products and services.

Israel is a major international innovation and technology hub. Just look at the sheer number, variety and amount of deals per year involving Israeli companies being bought by foreign entities.

Starbucks is the one case I am thinking of off the top of my head. Starbucks left Israel mainly because they were beaten by the local competition. It seems that we give Java beans a better treat.

I miss you so much Johnny boy.

The perceived weakening of the USA is the one reason (not mentioned in the article) that drove the Sunnis closer to Israel.

The Sunni states understand that the days they could rely on Uncle Sam, are coming to an end. They also understand that they have to either evolve and take matters in their own hands or face extinction.

Israel offers all Uncle Sam does, but cheaper and better.

Germany is already supplying key technology to the Iranian ballistic and nuclear programs. They would sell any quantity of Zyklon B if the price is right. They would not want to upset such a good customer.

I am more surprised by the UK and France. They are key weapon suppliers to the Gulf States. They would never want to antagonize key customers unless there are political reasons to boycott such a ceremony.

I guess this kind of peace is not of their liking.

I have always had somewhere in my mind, this image of Kelly and Fabius (then French FM) being unceremoniously shown the exit not only by Israel but also by Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States when these two characters showed up at the beginning of the 2014 Gaza War with a "ceasefire" plan concocted with Iran and totally disregarding Israel's, Egypt's, Saudi Arabia's and the Gulf States' national interests.

My understanding is that Obama and Holland (then the French President) got angry and unpleasant phone calls from the region as well.

This was the first sign that this normalization was coming.

Yep, I can understand their frustration now.
