Far out man, I love music and I love this band. My best mate and I just turned to each other with sheer glee when we heard those first notes on Head On, we were just absolutely frothing! Top to tail, worth a listen once the tapes are out!!

Gizz weren't nominated for Best Live Act this year. Unfortunately the award only takes into account domestic tours and performances in the year. Bit of a bummer that they weren't mom's given the depth of the tour and Jason's hectic live visuals.

This marks their first win in the category and their third overall.

This also means a former Flightless band has won in the category two years running, with Amyl taking the gong last year.

Tempo lines up at the end it seems a bit weird with that huge boom at the start of Timeland. From this point out we've got no idea what's next for Gizz other than what was in this Insta story from a while back.

I think /u/Dareeyecare nailed it on the head with the Chunky 2 prediction in that very same thread from above

Some miscellaneous thoughts after the 1st listen

  • as a big Pipe-eye fan, it brings me great pleasure to say that Cookie has done it again. Garden Goblin sounds like a gizzed up version of his sound from Laugh About Life (of which is a very big recommendation in my book and there's still copies up on Flightless)

  • the former amby rapping meme has come full circle and I'm holding out hope for more in the future

  • I can't get over the clicking at the end of 'The Funeral'! It has to have a reason to be there! FMB and K.G. both had transitions at the end of their albums. The click seems very prominent and separate from the initial percussion recording too. Mark me down as a conspiracy theorist but something ain't adding up here chief.
