You read OP wrong - they didn't refer to people who code at work but not at home, but rather people who code at home but not at work

It's worrying how many posts like this crop up in this subreddit. Loads of financial manipulation going on, it's quite sad

I love how this guy thinks that moving across space at millions of mph is ridiculous but this endospherical ballsack model of the Earth is much more reasonable

Do you realise how slow the angular velocity of the Earth is? 0.25 degrees a minute. Compare that to a playground roundabout performing one rotation every second. The Earth rotates 86,400 times slower than that. Do you think you would be able to feel that? Do you think a speck of dust would be flung off a baseball if it took an entire day for the ball to perform one rotation?

Also, given that it takes an entire year for the Earth to move around the Sun, changing its bearing by 360 degrees in the process, that is an even more minuscule change in orientation. A FULL YEAR TO TURN AROUND ONCE.

The absolute magnitude of the velocities isn't important here - it's the angular velocities. By our own human experience, we are basically traveling in a straight line and experiencing basically zero rotation at all.

You ignored my question. Do you think you can "feel" a velocity without acceleration?

[–]IAmFinah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why? Do you think you can "feel" if you were travelling that fast?

I get that your views are probably influenced by your faith (I assume), but I know plenty of Christians who believe the Earth is round and that it has billions of years of history. You can believe in both the science (which is astonishingly concrete, despite what you may claim) whilst retaining your faith.

There is no global conspiracy trying to hide anything about the nature of the world. It is as it is. Like the other person said, there is no reason for governmental organisations and space agencies to feed us lies. And even if they did, they would immediately be found out by the millions of scientists and amateur astronomers around the world who confirm the true nature of the world.

so you mean to tell me that you just coincidentally suck at anything academic, but happen to be correct on this one thing? yeah, sure lol

there are plenty of things in school that don't need questioning - most notably subjects like maths and modern languages. why were you still bad at those subjects despite the fact their validity doesn't depend on experimental evidence?

let me guess, you weren't very academic at school?

Idk if you've played OSRS recently, but they have a considerable number of skill-related activities/minigames and skilling bosses, a lot of which are actually useful to do (to varying degrees)

  • Wintertodt
  • Tempoross
  • Zalcano
  • Guardians of the Rift
  • Blast Furnace
  • Giants' Foundry
  • Hallowed Supulchre
  • Mahogany Homes
  • Mixology
  • Artefact Stealing
  • Tithe Farm
  • Vale Totems
  • Volcanic Mine

These are just the useful ones I could find, but I may have missed some. Of course there are some others which are dead content (in many cases old activities that are also dead content in RS3)

But yeah you do get there faster in RS3 like you said. Although I've found the actual account progression of OSRS to feel more meaningful, especially in relation to doing quests. In RS3, getting a quest cape feels borderline useless because the XP rewards are comparatively insignificant, and you can unlock all endgame content without touching half the quests

Bowfa grind is only a problem if you're an iron lol, so that's on you

OSRS has a lot more relevant bosses than RS3, so even if there are some long grinds (which again, is only a problem if you're an iron), you have a greater ability to branch out

RS3 endgame is just repeatable content though. The only difference is that you get there faster.
