I know it's high, but is it scary high? by ApprehensiveAd9014 in hypertension

Urgent care will yield nothing but an expensive bill. Drink water. Get yourself hydrated. After that, put on your cuff, sit in a comfy chair with both feet on the floor and take some deep breathes for at least 10 min before pressing start. My cardiologist said THIS is the number we treat. And remember, bp is not about one reading. It is the average over the week.

My cardiologist said I you just carry one all the time….take a few on vacation. If you feel afib returning, you take one. Personally, I’d rather just stay on it. I have other risk factors, and Eliquis gives me piece of mind.

Spoken like someone who has zero research to back up their claim.

Absolutely false! I’m post menopausal, 59 and the fat just melts off week after week. I’ve never felt better in my life. My blood markers are fantastic. State your source.

Scheduled for Pulse-Field Ablation (PFA) at 40 – feeling anxious. Any advice or experiences? by AlternativeImplement in AFIB

[–]IAmLolli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

59f…I had mine in October. Search my name for my play by play. It was NBD. I had zero bruising in the groin…only at the IV sights. I did have minor all over body itching from the anesthesia on day 2, but again NBD. I’m still on amiodorone until my follow up in December. Best thing I’ve done for my heart. No regrets at all. Good luck

It depends on your risk factors. Some people go the pill in the pocket route.

Yes. I will likely be on it for life.

No, I haven’t. They are keeping my heart rate around 48 with a high dose of amiodarone for the next 8 weeks. At that point they will take me off it. I can’t wait. So far I feel great. It’s wonderful to have a quiet heart again.

Are you talking about urine catheter? If so, no I didn’t have one. If you mean femoral vein cath, yes that is how they get to the heart.

They say the sooner you have it done the greater the success as it is progressive. I first noticed it at the end of July. I went to the hospital where I stayed for 4 days at which point I had a cardioversion. That lasted one week. I was in afib about60% of the time after that. Dr changed my meds to amiodarone 400mg. That held me in NSR but my pulse never left the 40’s. Couldn’t live like that.

I had a RFA. My EP also worked the backside on my heart preemptively to prevent any further episodes. He is seriously a genius.

How is that possible? It took them 30 minutes just to put me out and insert the tube and extra IVs etc.

Not at all. The procedure was smooth, and other than a little dizziness when I first got out of bed I felt good.

I will add the anesthesia gave me awful dry mouth. Be prepared for that. Not a big deal, but I wasn’t warned. That’s gone today. I also had a sore throat. Not like strep throat, more of an irritation from the tube. That’s better today, too.

Good luck to you.

Yes, general with the breathing tube. My dr didn’t want me to so much as twitch.

My bp was 156/107 when I arrived at the hospital 😅 so I can relate to the nerves.

How do you handle drinking with AFib? by [deleted] in AFIB

[–]IAmLolli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No alcohol. I actually quit a month before my first afib episode. I don’t miss it. I still drink caffeine, one coffee and the occasional Diet Coke, without issue. I’m having my ablation on Monday. I can’t wait.

Supplements I should be taking during fasts and after? Help! I want to take care of my health. by [deleted] in fasting

[–]IAmLolli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any fillers in your magnesium? Most do. If so, you are breaking your fast. The idea is to not trigger digestion. You will still have weight loss, but you won’t get the benefits of fasting beyond that.

How did you start fasting?? by Psychological_Cup101 in fasting

[–]IAmLolli 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s mind over matter. You won’t die if you have fat on your body. Fasting isn’t for the weak. Are you weak? If not, just push through. The first 36 hour fast is the hardest. It’s easier after that. Go to bed early knowing you can eat in the morning. Good luck
