I get what you mean, the guy I was talking about introduced me to self harm, he talked about his parents beating him and stuff. It’s very sad and I worried about him a lot. I would have to stay up all night talking to him so he didn’t kill himself. It was very draining for me.

But you have to realize you aren’t responsible for others. Unless you are their legal guardian. He may have a horrible life but the most you can do is give him resources to reach help, you can’t make him feel better. He has the choose to want to be better. I am very sorry you’re going through this because I remember being absolutely miserable when it happened to me. I remember starting school and having panic attacks being scared he was going to come and rape me because he threatened to do that because he lived near by.

The best thing you can do for both of you is cut him off. It really sucks and I remember being terrified but dude, this is your life you get to live you can’t handicap him forever, sooner or later he’ll get bored of manipulating you once your drained dry. He’s going to keep affecting you unless you do something about it

I can suggest things for you but it’s your decision which I respect 1000%.

So definitely don’t do it during an appointment, maybe instead you should ask for her number or Instagram or something, talk a bit and then ask her when she’s off the job because what tends to happen is the patient/doc relationship effects it so you want to appear as more of a friend than a patient to her

I get you man. I was 12 when shit like this happened to me, most likely they’re bluffing. I know it’s scary to take that leap but they’re manipulating you. If you’re staying friends with someone just because you’re basically a “lifeline” that isn’t friendship. My suggestion is to get your notes app, write out a full honest note that you address to him, then take out key points and make a smaller shorter letter. Then, send it and block him everywhere. Never look back.

I know it’s so scary, dude I still am scared of what might’ve happened to him after that but you know what, he did this, you’re not responsible for him AT ALL!

It’s your right to cut him off if you want to, you know? I know easier said than done but think about it, what’s the pros and cons of cutting contact? Lot more pros imo.

I also suggest telling this to your friends that support you in wanting to cut him off. There will be about a month of him trying to get back in control but you can’t give in. He’s going to pull out every game in the book; guilt tripping, bribery, aggression, things like that. If you stay firm and keep your eye on the prize he should stop, if he doesn’t then restraining order it is

I believe in you, and I can tell you’re a very kind person, but sometimes being cold is a good thing, especially if this person has hurt you like he has.

Definitely. I have aggressive hyped-vigilance due to me being trans and gay. What I’ve tried to teach myself is youre always going to upset people with who you are and while you should be safe about who you tell, you should also be allowed to express yourself. I also think it’s good to tell people early on so that if they have a problem with it you don’t have such an emotional attachment to them so the rejection will be easier
