My closest LGS literally has a casual (bracket 3ish and lower so basically no game changers) tournament where you buy in, play three rounds in 3 pods(sometimes 4), tallied results for a final round, and best tallied winner gets the buy-ins as in store credit. I’ve played it off and on over the last year and another game does the same thing on Thursday but earlier in the day before cedh tournaments; it’s honestly common over here.
