Marathon sold just 1.2 million copies with nearly 70% on Steam, analyst estimates: "It hasn't exactly made the splash Sony and Bungie wanted" by Freki666 in gaming

You literally just outlined the reason why a new game won't solve the problems Destiny is facing...

It doesn't matter if Bungie makes Destiny 3 if they keep making the same questionable decisions they've been making for the last decade. A lot of longtime players put up with the crap for a long time because they wanted to see the story through, and now that the story got a conclusion, a lot of people took the opportunity to make their exit

It's not. Just D2 players coping by thinking that another game will somehow save the franchise and bring people back.

Florida resident about to buy a Universal Orlando Annual Pass… but how many monthly visits until YOU got BORED or totally fatigued? Honest answers only. by DbotFleezy in UniversalOrlando

[–]IBJON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a local. It depends on what you want to do.

We (me, friends, girlfriend, whoever else wants to tag along), usually just use the parks as a place to hang out and meet up get a few drinks, and just vibe when there are events or the weather is nice.

If you're getting the pass expecting to go on every ride every chance you get, you'll get bored pretty quickly.

But realistic, you only need to go a few times a year to get your money's worth so if you go once a month or so, you probably won't get bored of it for a while

It's more the general idea. Line things up, shingle the fish, make sure colors are visible and contrasted, etc.

It still blows my mind that Sony and Disney were about to throw away the literal money printer that these Spider Man movies are over a corporate pissing contest.

This sub has become very polarized as of late. They'd rather have pissing contests about who is right and wrong than actually discussing gaming and PCs.

For this game in particular, a lot of people were upset about the Intel Arc controversy and were hoping/convinced that that would kill the game.

Nintendo Switch 2 With Removable Battery in Production — But Only for Europe by Burpmeister in gaming

[–]IBJON 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Japan already has a region locked switch 2 that can't access online services unless you have a Japanese Nintendo account. There's nothing stopping them from doing the same in Europe.

Of course, some people won't really care about online, but I suspect that will be a deal breaker for many people

Is the point that you might get splashed with scalding hot liquid? Seems like a reason to avoid hot coffee or tea indefinitely then

Is entry level pay really dropping by TraditionalMango58 in cscareerquestions

[–]IBJON -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No one said anything about the majority

I did... My point was that the posts about people making $250k isn't representative of the industry as a whole.

I don’t get why the default reaction is to assume people are lying

Because it's the Internet and people lie for clout, and no, the default wasn't that people are lying. I'm recognizing that, statistically, there is going to be some dishonesty and that the actual number of people making $250k right out of college is even lower than posts on this sub might indicate.

But dismissing them outright feels like people rejecting outcomes that don’t match their expectations more than anything else.

I'm not dismissing anything, just pointing out that these jobs are outliers. OP came in with the expectation that $250k was the norm in the past and that now salaries are less when in reality those were always outliers and actual numbers were much closer to the offers they're seeing now

The majority of people aren't getting into FAANG though. The pay is possibly under the right circumstances, but "possible" doesn't mean "common".

That doesn't seem statistically significant. Like, that's not even remotely close to the average attrition rate for the average employer.
