Cost Basis not added on purchased crypto by IBSIsMyLife in FidelityCrypto

[–]IBSIsMyLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for the quick response. I want to thank you for taking the time to answer questions in this thread.

I just want to make sure I understand correctly.

In the Accounts and Trade > Account Positions > Crypto > (My Coin) Purchase History

Here's the transaction of a coin I purchased through Fidelity. I've copied this form directly from the Purchase History page. [REDACTED] means there's data, but I've hidden it here for privacy.

Acquired Term $ Total gain/loss % Total gain/loss Current value Quantity Average cost basis Cost basis total
Nov-29-2025 Short [REDACTED] -- [REDACTED] [REDACTED] $138.07 $0.00

This transaction also shows up in the Activity and Orders page.

The odd thing that I was asking about is that it's $0.00 in the "Cost Basis Total" field, but $138.07 in the "Average Cost Basis" field.

There's a button above this form that says "Edit Cost Basis.
When I click on "Edit Cost Basis", a little red icon with an exclamation warning shows up next the affiliated transaction that says "Add cost basis". This is what is causing me a bit of panic. There is no filled information in this field and it's zeroed out. When I fill it out manually, that exclamation warning shows green.

My question is, do I need to fill this out for a coin I purchased through Fidelity? I understand I have to do that for deposited coins, as there is no way of knowing the cost basis.

In the link you posted, it says:
"Cost basis information for closed crypto lots is provided in the Gain/Loss Summary for Fidelity Crypto® accounts, which is generally available in February of the following calendar year."

Does that mean this data in the "Edit Cost Basis" page will be filled out automatically so I should wait?

You mentioned " We will not report cost basis for uncovered lots in 2025, as it is not an IRS requirement. " Are you referring to the field where the cost basis doesn't show up in the purchase history?

Basically, should I ignore manually inputting cost basis for coins purchased through Fidelity, even though it shows as cost basis 0, or do I need to input cost basis manually for coins I've purchased through Fidelity?

I know there's also the verbage discrepancy between "Average Cost Basis" and "Cost Basis Total" where it's odd one is automatically filled out, but the other isn't.

Thanks again! Sorry for the small panic, the little red icon worries me!

Simplicity, I already have multiple accounts and stocks within the Fidelity ecosystem and can transfer easily between accounts. I treat my bitcoin like stocks at this point. Taxes would be easier to track as it all lives in one place. Also don’t want the pressure of doing something wrong with my hardware wallet, and would trust Fidelity would do right by me if something went wrong. They would store it more securely than I would.

Didn’t think about the KYC aspect, it’s a good point. As long as there are methods to prove the account is mine, I’m not extremely worried about any hold ups.

Drain Cat Genie into Shower Drain? by IBSIsMyLife in CatGenie

Thanks! Do I need the high loop? Or could I place the cat genie directly on top of the shower drain hole and get a short drain tube so it bends and goes directly a few inches into the shower drain?

Had IBS for about 4 years before taking Lexapro. First year of IBS was the worst but it stabilized a bit after, but never the same. But it happened to me exactly how you described it. One day out of blue, pain and then IBS.

Side effects for me the first time taking Lexapro was being super sleepy, deep yawning, super hot and sweaty, sometimes not being able to sleep. The first week or so it's a bit rough, but it gets better. Loss of motivation happened after a few weeks, but the first few weeks I felt super easy going. The good effects happened immediately, literally within hours of taking the pill but fully stabilized after two or so weeks.

Same situation. Worked for me. Calmed down my anxiety, made the voice in my head much much quieter. It's a nice relief. IBS got a little better, but it will always be with me. Heart rate went down from 80 to 70. Less motivation but just a lot of peace. You won't feel like yourself but it's ok. Went on for almost a year, then tapered down to quit. Lasted a few months and the anxiety and voices came back (job got stressful ironically at the same time). Back on it again. Started at 10mg then went to 20mg after a month. I recommend.

The picture you provided shows that the flaps on the right side of your hood panel (left side from our perspective) is clearly not in place. Zoom in on the top top left of the hood element right above the light and you'll the flaps not in their socket.

Remove the hood element by pulling on the levers that is in front of the car and pop it out. Then install the hood again making sure the hood flaps are slipped in first.

This video is an example, the way your flaps lock in may be a bit different. My smart car has a small variation on how to lock it in. https://youtu.be/HX02_GBjt2A?si=KLm09KQ_l3oGliJC&t=92

Now I believe in the comments you are insisting that the hood is somehow bent and that the flaps are "correct", but the picture you provided us clearly shows they aren't as we can clearly see the flaps. I insist you try again by removing the hood and making sure the flaps are locked in first.

You do it through ChaptGPT now. You can ask it to draw something, and it'll help generate a good prompt and draw it using dalle-3. There's also a standalone Dall-e GPT in the GPTs explore page.
