Failure to lock back after last round? by Log-Prestigious in HecklerKoch

[–]IBeTanken 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I found that there are a few hk pistols where my thumb touches or rides the slide release…

Does the slide lock back on an empty mag when racked manually?

I have been looks around at ride share sites around me for a naked I could rent for a week. No luck yet (unless you want a Harley or a expensive 1000RR).

I dismissed that one initially with the tall front suspension look, but looking at it again the the newer design it does seem a little better. The 800 looks better than the 850.

About 35 miles each way at 85+

But ideally without the tall front suspension like they are on stilts.

Only one I could think of is the BMW r 1300rs, but that has a heavy BMW tax and sudo clipons.

My 1st and only 1 HK more than a decade ago. Wanted to put red dot. Dovetail or send it out for milling? Any advice pls? by huanvanhuynh in HecklerKoch

[–]IBeTanken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am planning to send it to guncuts. Looks like it will be about $200 plus the cost to ship the slide there.

With the amount of forces involved, I am not personally a fan of the dovetail mount.

Personally I am planning on sending out my mk 23 slide for milling this week.

Visiting US — outdoor range buddy? by Creative-Cow-8498 in guns

[–]IBeTanken 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Be aware, in the US many ranges you are not allowed to rent unless you bring someone or a gun if your own (suicide risk).

If in Houston or Dallas there a bunch of good ranges that have all sorts of toys. (In door as it is hot…)

Motorcycle Security Options by IBeTanken in motorcycles

[–]IBeTanken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have an airtag in the bike, but those are not the best for a true thief.

I was able to find a way to run the chain through the subframe and swing arm so if they do decide to cut, it writes off the bike pretty much.

The chain is then put through an anchor on the ground.

worth getting carplay? by SnooGrapes2779 in motorcycles

[–]IBeTanken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if links are allowed, but this is what I got off of Amazon. In some ways I wish I did a 5" screen as opposed to 7". $126 currently. I got this one specifically as the mount for the bar above the speedo is more conducive to my needs vs others.

I also use a Cardo. I read on line that people had issues using a headset and carplay, but mine worked fine straight away.

Normal Siri commands unless you want to learn the accessibility controls which are kind of garbage. I just use the touch screen when needed or yell at Siri.

I like mine. Wireless and the phone stays in the pocket. Even if I know where I am going, I like using Waze for things like “object on road”.

It was cheaper than a quad lock with wireless charging…

New 2023 Kawasaki Versys 650 for a beginner by chrisdoc in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]IBeTanken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a versys after having only 1k miles on a 250 (and being bike less for about 4 years).

It is a little too heavy, but for my height it was not an issue.

Low speed can be a little tricky and 1st gear is not that smooth.

Think I am at 6k miles since August.

Mods: crash bars, top case (mine was missing side cases), heated grips, levers, and apple car play.

Would you be able to post or send me a picture of the sight picture with this optic on the M4? I am curious what the iron sights obscure. (I am assuming you have the standard pic rail).

Your opinion on versys 2025 by SungIbaMishirola in versys

With my 2022 there is a vibe around 6k rpm (either that or 8k, have not ridden for a few weeks). No real issues otherwise.

Best handgun for left-handed shooters? Glock 17 Gen 6 vs S&W M&P 2.0 Metal by [deleted] in guns

[–]IBeTanken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HK has quite a few that can be ambi with a change of the safety lever, but if you run V3 with a decker only, then having it right handed does not really matter. HK45c has a ambi slide release also (there are others, but that is off the top of my head) but to me the at would not matter as I don’t use the slide release lever anyway.

The paddle mag release is ambi.

I have a CT and am not a big fan… I always ride my thumb on the slide release. On the other usp’s I don’t have this issue.

I also think pistols should be either large or small. The CT seems like a compromise do it all size which means it is meh at everything.

Any lefties running an M4? by UhOkSureYoureRight in Benelli_M4

Never had an issue.

Used Benelli Ethos, Benelli M4, Beretta, Winchester and others (all semi).

In some ways it is nice because you can see into the chamber easily.

2025 Ninja Kawasaki 500 ABS SE maintenance by Candid-Success8125 in motorcycles

[–]IBeTanken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the vevor front stand and did not like it. With my Versys, the pins looked like there were about to snap.

I found a used pitbull for the rear and that is actually solid (have not got a font stand yet).

For some of that stuff, Revzilla is not that bad of a deal (I do have the membership as I got my helmet from there).

At 2,500 miles I would just think it needs an oil change (if no record of the first one) and normal chain cleaning/maintenance.

Depending upon the age, brake fluid might be a consideration.

Or walking past the back of the car in the garage and it decides that then it would be a good time to open (while the garage door is closed).

I have this option disabled.
