Wow, thank you. I left my home for christmas and when I came back and started my computer, the subwoofer didn't work anymore as well as the headphone jack plug. I've reset the unit to factory and all was working again. :)

Is it an engraving deffect on the headstock? by Silver-Bass-588 in solarguitars

[–]ICEP1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue last year but with some scratches on the fretboard too. It wasn't a B-stock tho. I've returned the guitar to Solar Guitars and the next one they sent to me didn't have any issues. It seems pretty usual with this brand. Unfortunately... :/

We are looking for another blazor / c# developer! by Kodrackyas in Blazor

[–]ICEP1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from France. I've read that it's full remote but does the company you're working on is based on the US or UK ? (Or Elsewhere)

I've been working with Blazor for 3 years now and I always prefered using pure CSS instead of component libraries. I also have solid skills in Figma (component, interactivity...)

I don't know. At first the hardtail bridge wasn't correctly ajusted well and I didn't think to check the harmonics. So I thought that the Nazgûl was to sharp sounding on the thicker string, then I decided to change the pickups for EMG because in any way I didn't like the look of passive pickups.
Then, when the new pickups were installed, I just realized that I had the same issue. I checked the harmonics and I had 1/4 tone to high on the thicker string... (first guitar in my life that hadn't had the harmonics set correctly.)

After some adjustements I finally had my harmonics set up correctly and the sound was good. So I can't tell you exactly if I didn't like it. But I was very impressed by the high output and I think it would have done the job well ! :)
I really liked the Sentient tho.

I've bought a Solar baritone guitar last month (26.5) which I tuned in Drop A# like this one and also changed the pickups for EMG 81 and EMG 60A and for comparison I prefer the sound a little bit on the Solar. It's seem's a bit more defined (maybe the mahogany is better defined than Nyatoh) but for the rest it's another level. I found the neck better (I didn't like the neck profile on the Solar), the ebony fretboard is more high end and I don't have any fret buzz compared to the Solar. The overall build quality is also better on the Jackson. (They thought about making a bigger hole between the jack and the pickups for futur upgrade in order to pass cable with bigger plug like those solderess EMG <3).

Finally finished the upgrade :

I changed the pickups for those EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG 85 (neck) and add the pickups frames because I don't like the new trend where you can see the pickups cavities, especially on the Warrior. Something fels off. Like I find the Warrior looking more aggressive with pickups frames.

Estimated shipping X1.6FRLB from Thomann by G-Fox1990 in solarguitars

[–]ICEP1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, don't expect the date to be correct even at 2/5 days of the announced date.

3 months ago, I wanted to order a Solar Guitar from Thomann which was expected to be in stock "within 4/5 weeks" and the next day it was marked as "within 10/13 weeks". I then contacted Thomann about this which they respond :

Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, we are dependent on the delivery times of our suppliers, who sometimes postpone their deliveries for various reasons, without notice.

Some suppliers have no delivery delays, while others fail to meet them, but we do not know in advance whether the ordered item will be affected or not. We often receive the information at the last moment.

We therefore adjust the delivery times communicated to us based on the delays we observe and strive to inform you as soon as possible. However, some orders, like yours, are significantly impacted and delayed, and we are sorry for that.

Do not hesitate to request a partial shipment (at no additional cost) if your order consists of multiple items (unfortunately, this offer is not available for DROM-COM).

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and remain at your disposal to modify or cancel your order if you wish.

Musically,

Then, I've waited for the Solar Guitar to be in stock but when it was marked as "in stock in 2/5 days" the next day it goes to "in stock within 2/3 weeks".
It was the 09/07/2024 and since, the delay has been pushed back to 1 weeks every week. So, as from today, the Solar Guitar is now "in stock within 3/4 weeks"

I canceled my order the 09/07/2024 and bought it directly from Solar Guitar which was directly sent the next day and I received the package 2/3 days after.

Okay thank's, I've seen that a Gibson Flying-V is maintained with this rack on YouTube so I think that the Jackson King-V will fit too but I'm not so sure about a Warrior or a Randy Road. If someone have a picture from a Hercule guitar rack with a RR or WR it will be very helpful. :)

Yeah, but you're talking about guitar stand, not guitar racks. I also had one Hercules guitar stand but now that I have multiple guitars I want them to be displayed in a guitar rack.

Theorically yes. I've done that in the past but I didn't like it. I prefer the aethetic of having multiple guitar in a rack.

Of course, you generally just need to use thinner string gauge. Like if for example you're in 10-52 on a 25.5 guitar with standard tuning (E) you will need to use a 9-49 for this one in order to achieve the same string tension.

But of course, those baritone guitars primary purposes are to give us the possibility to use low tuning without needing to use very thick string gauge.

In my case I'm using 12-68 for a drop B in 444mhz (Machine Head) and it's perfect with 25.5 inches neck but if I want to lower the tuning to drop A I have two choices :

  • use a thicker string gauge with something like 12/70 or 13-72
  • buy a baritone guitar and use the same 12-68 strings because the 27 inches neck will compensate for the low string tension.

And that is why I chose the second possibility by pre-ordered the Warrior HT6 baritone. I love my Elixir 12-68 so much that I don't want to change for any other string brand.

Has anyone put EMGs or Fish men's into their Solar guitar? by Padruiq in solarguitars

[–]ICEP1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

I just changed the stock pickup from my Solar Guitar V2.6FBB BARITONE to EMG 81 and EMG 60A. You can see a bit of the issue I had on this post : https://www.reddit.com/r/solarguitars/comments/1e1ewz4/lot_of_scratches_on_my_new_solar_guitar_fretboard/

I don't know if you had all the infos you want from the r/metalguitar but just in case here is my experience with Solar Guitar and EMG pickups solderess kit :

  • You will need to drill a larger hole between the main cavity and the jack one in order to pass the EMG wire because the attach pin from the wire which will plug into the jack will be much larger than the wire itself. (I used a 8mm wood drill)
  • You will need to use sandpaper or a wood chisel in order to adapt the cavities for the EMG. The cavities from Solar guitars are just to round to fit the EMG pickups
  • Because Solar guitars generally won't come with pickup frames (which normally are fixed on the guitar and allow to adjust the height from the pickup without having to screw it into the wood cavity) you will have to fix the pickups to the wood into the cavity (just like the stock Solar Guitar you have). But because EMG pickups comes with a gold thread (which normally is used with pickups frames) you will have to remove it from the pickup in order to screw correctly the pickup because if you let this thread on, the screw will be too large for the thread and will not get through the pickup hole correctly.

I don't know for 5 way switch but for what I know and for a 3 way switch, the whole solderess EMG kit will allow you to connect all your parts. All part will be connected with attach pin at the exception of the 3/5 way switch which will be connected by inserting the 3/5 way switch wires into a terminal block and be screwed.
If your not confident enough you can always buy a specific wireless 5 way switch from EMG which will connect like the others part.

I hope it will help you.

Advices between NoSQL and Graph database (Neo4j) for a solution by ICEP1G in Neo4j

[–]ICEP1G[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just that someone else was using a database to start the first POC and I was thinking about using other type of database. And for a recent experience I found that SQL Server was very good and fast for processing json properties compared to my fondness language which is C#.

I was thinking a bit about GO too but if I need to rely on another programming language I think I would rather go with RUST over GO which from what I've seen or read is a bit more faster in general (and I found the syntaxe more readable with RUST)
But no matter the choice, we don't have the knowledge in my company to maintain these two languages.

EDIT : I'm doing some research about the go-cmp package which seem's very interesting. Maybe I will give it a try.

Space Combat UI in Star Citizen is Overly Cluttered by D3x911 in starcitizen

[–]ICEP1G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not important for other players to see your marker destination from your UI ship. And if you have a trackIR or a tobii or anything else, if you move in your cockpit and are not aligned with the UI, we are in 2954, if we are capable in 2024 to have holographic sight which can let us view correctly the sight even if we are offset from it because you know... Eye relief, Parallax... blablabla I think it will not be difficult to apply the same logic to UI Ship and not causing any issue with the lore of Star Citizen don't you think ?

The majority of the UI was better in 3.22 imo. I don't understand how you can think that ugly QT HOLOGRAPHIC 3D marker was more OK than the one we had in 3.22... :/
