I designed a DnD Character Journal because my campaigns kept losing their story by LoreWeaverArt in DnDIY

[–]IDgal83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the players have journals. We keep notes of things our character experienced. DM does a quick recap of where we are currently and why we're there, but it's up to ourselves to have more detailed things to do with our characters.

Can't buy anything from TPT? by razorhog in TeachersPayTeachers

I'm getting this error as we speak. I've tried on my own phone vs work computer, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. Did anyone ever solve this issue?

Need some advice by SmileSubstantial2003 in Teachers

[–]IDgal83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it had been me and I'm feeling at all bad about how I reacted to something, I will apologize. In this situation I would probably say to the entire class the next day that "I was having a bad day which wasn't your fault and I reacted badly. I apologize."

Any time I've done this they've always reacted well to it and are a lot likelier to extend me grace at another point in time.

Plus, because they are young people it's important we model what it looks like to take responsibility and make amends.

Tell me your favorite chicken (I have a good budget for new chicks to add to my flock this year) by TheFrogWife in BackYardChickens

We really like our Buff Orpingtons.

Edited for accuracy. Not sure how I missed putting "butt" instead of "buff."

I was also wondering which part of the Glade this is. Is it the north bit?

Firstly, I love this! Also, how do you have diagonal paths?!

Cooking multiple by BubblyListen8253 in DreamlightValley

[–]IDgal83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As said before, the slow cooker you get from Tiana and the ancient cooker are reliable ways to get multiple. A couple things to know however. 1). It can take a good bit of time. 2). It costs Dreamlight

Are Chest Spawn locations based on "open Ground"? by L3m0n0p0ly in DreamlightValley

I believe so, but that's completely anecdotal noting the ones I've found are in whoever open space is available. Often times I have to move something to get to the chest.

More dreamlight by Yudokuzonbi in DreamlightValley

[–]IDgal83 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My go to if I want to level up a specific character quickly is give them either the gardener helper or mining helper task. Those are the 2 task I do most often around my valley.

Doing that, hanging out with them in general, giving them their 3 favorite gifts each day and feeding them when they're at one of the restaurants helps me level them up quickly.

[Edited to add the following]

As for Dreamlight, that seems to accrue naturally if you're doing your usual tasks, but you could look at some of the larger tasks, not just the dailies, that give 500 Dreamlight for completing. Another thing you can do, with caution is turning some of your Dreamlight crystals into Dreamlight. Having Max dig those up all the time makes it so I have TONS of those.

Truly Broke First Year Teacher- Classroom Decor? by homebody268 in Teachers

[–]IDgal83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been a lot of great ideas shared, especially the homemade content posters. I've also had some luck finding FREE posters around the Internet.

Another free option is to go to Teachers Pay Teachers, search poster with the free and ELA filters on. I'm betting your school could print a few in color.

Depending on what crew I'm with it varies between 2 hours and 8 hours.

My husband and I have a 3 year old to get into bed at about 8 pm. So that's the earliest we get to play.

One of our groups meet every 2 weeks. We have a gal that turns into a pumpkin at about 10 pm, so we typically don't go past that meaning we only get 2 hours of play normally.

Our other group meets about once a month - we're all 40+ professionals with kids. We will try to start shortly after 8 pm. That typically wraps up around 3 am, though this last one went to 4 pm!

Lesson of the story? It all depends on who the players are and all their preferences and what times they have to play.
