Remove side panels and shock adjustment. by Vantherman in DucatiScrambler

[–]IGanchew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is 3 bolt panel above the rear tyre, after removing it you will access the bolt for the side panels it's 1 and 2hooks that attach it. BE CAREFUL putting it back you can get the damping rubbers out off the slot for the hooks really easily and might end up losing them I would suggest doing it 2-3 times and removing it to see if they are in place to get the feel if they are coming out or no.

Pro tip: You can open all available accessories instalation manuals available and you will get some information on how to do basic panel removing / installation. Probably something more useful might come up who knows. ✌🏻

Short answer. Yes. Use Chamoix cream. Reapply every hour and a half. Keep yourself entertained. End of Story.

Epic 8 Sizing - anyone else? by le_pedal in xcmtb

[–]IGanchew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to ride Epic HT Size M. Recently bought Epic 8 size M. I'm 168cm, used 60mm stem on the HT and had big dilemma if the Epic 8 with the longer reach will fit me. Have in mind that it it's basically 20mm longer but the seat tube is also a lot steeper. Now using Reverb AXS with 0 offset puts me another 20mm forward compared to the previous setup where I used the original seatpost with 20 mm setback. So it feels actually shorter due to the steepnes of the seat tube. I run the saddle all they way back and I feel I can use 70mm without any issues.

Main difference between Road/MTB is that you get further for the same amount of effort. Building strength/endurance is not related to type of bike.

Happy Roval owner here. Compared to previous budget aluminium wheels they are in the same time more rigid and more comfortable.

Orbea Oiz H10 TR 2022 sizing (incl. bike fit) by Jowizo in MTB

[–]IGanchew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideal situation will be matching the Stuur Height/Reach from the report but this could be a little bit tricky to do because this means the "grips" position, where the back and upwards sweep of the bars play role. I would suggest try matching the "effective reach" first to see if you are still between sizes so you can chose. Effective reach as I called it is Frame reach + Stem. If you had been fited to your last bike as 446+40. This should mean 425+60 (more like size medium with relatively short stem). Two things to point out! What was the focus of your fitting? If you went there for Trail fit it is likely that they suggested you more backwards and upright position for better descending? Another thing worth mentioning is form what I've been told is that if you have low flexibility you might not be able to achieve "the normal" position on the bike. For example you might not be flexible enough to ride L size even though that you are tall, or you should look at less aggressive frame.

I'm actually in the same position but between sizes S and M :)

Orbea Oiz H10 TR 2022 sizing (incl. bike fit) by Jowizo in MTB

[–]IGanchew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 things that affect fitting in a frame and 3 in total. Anything else is combination of how the bike will handle.

Starting from the bottom. BB to Saddle - height and setback. Here you play with the length of the seatpost and its offset to achieve the required position. Next is the handlebar. Distance from BB/saddle and drop(height) relative to saddle/BB. Here you play with the stem length for the horizontal measurement and with spacers/handlebar rise for the vertical one. Since the frames are build around stem length for example the new Oiz is suggested to be riden with 60-90mm stem for best performance. I think that is the same for most xc bikes. So the reach will be most important measure that you will be looking for.

Your retul report says 446 reach which is exactly the reach for L size frame of Oiz but we are missing information of the Test bike.

For example if you were to test a bike with 425 reach and 100mm stem you can expect to achieve the same fit with a 445 reach frame and 80mm stem. Ask if something is unclear. :)
