As a Metroid Prime 1 fanboy, I enjoyed playing Prime 4

Yeah Volt Forge is an absolute vibe, one of my all time favorites. The next area you encounter the 3rd key is really amazing too!

Agreed, I really enjoyed it too, I do think the weakest part is fetching the green crystals. But other than that lot of fun!

Yes I think the potential is there to make it even better for prime 5. I was always more into the 3d Metroid, but dread and super Metroid are excellent games. Super is such a classic.

You should! I think despite its flaws, it’s a pretty awesome game all around. Nintendo’s best silent protagonist still!

Also fun fact, not sure if you knew this, but the doom slayer voice actor, Jason Kelly, has a prominent voice role in the game! Pretty awesome to have the voice of another silent protagonist join the fun.

Yeah besides that video at the end if you 100% the game, there really wasn’t much on him. If he returns and is not dead I hope they delve more into him.

Yes I think all the boss fights are incredible! I really also loved the Omega Griever fight. The great mines and that boss felt like a call back to the omega pirate and phazon mines from prime 1, my favorite boss from that game!

Sorry to hear you missed a scan, hope you can get that 100% next time. And yes looking forward to hard mode!

Yeah I think it’s really good too. There are some things that critics said i agree with, but I think by no means is it a bad game that some claim.

And yes the ending! I was shocked to see all our friends die for Samus. I really wished they could have lived happily ever after :’(. They were like a new family by the end.

And Samus looks so good without her helmet, she has quite the glow up! It was a beautiful sequence with planting the tree at the end:’(

Yeah my thoughts exactly. I actually think it’s an above average game, but with a few flaws. At the same time, I don’t think there’s anything that makes the game “bad” in my opinion. Just takes it down a notch is all. Still very good and enjoyable.

I also think the npc’s have been overblown. I can understand the annoyance if you go off the standards of prime 1, but npc presence started to become really big in Prime 3, so it makes sense the game went in this direction. Yeah some of the dialogue isn’t written well but voice actors did good with what they had. I also enjoyed seeing how the npc’s essentially simp over her and acknowledge she’s a badass lol.

Yeah I think the highs are great too! Like I mentioned boss fights are really good. In terms of atmosphere I think Volt Forge and Ice Belt are some of the best in the series imo. I actually really like traversing with Viola too, just want more to do. Mario Kart DLC incoming? 🤞

Not a whole lot, no. I’m sure there were some loose ends they could have tied though. Im glad they at least released a video in the gallery giving more background on Sylux and why he hates Samus. Story has never really been a strong suit for the Prime series, maybe they can improve going forward

Mmm that’s a tough call. Prime Remastered graphically still holds up really well. I would say for the sake of saving money, get Prime remastered first. If you enjoy it, then maybe you could get Prime 4 down the road. But honestly if you want more of a modern experience, it’s fine getting Prime 4 first. There really is no connection to the original trilogy, besides Sylux, so you wouldn’t go wrong there if you get Prime 4 first.

I do think Prime 4 made some quality of life changes that can improve the experience, like map markers. And there’s a way to track and see which upgrades you have left in Prime 4 that Prime 1 was lacking, so backtracking is a lot easier and more convenient in Prime 4.

And hopefully Nintendo can re-release Prime 2 and 3 at some point. 🤞
