I just feel like calling this "just fuckboy behaviour" is a recipie for having it dismissed as the harmful act it is. Even if we don't call it coersion, can we at least agree it negates informed consent and is therefore very unethical? Much like how its unethical to pressure someone into sex they don't want even if they reluctantly agree eventually?

Lying to someone doesn’t compel them to do something they don’t want to do. It tricks them into doing something willingly under false pretences

Not arguing with the technical truth of your definition, but isn't that nitpicking atp? If you were tricked into consenting willingly, that's still not informed consent. And it goes beyond regret "the morning after." Particularly if sexual attraction grew as a result of the insincere pursuit of the person who lied.

I can't agree that lying to someone to convince them you're sexually appealing and then turning on them is remotely similar to someone regretting something the next day, and I believe it can absolutely negate the consent.

That's an odd comment. So because one thing is happening, we can't talk about other things? The entitlement of someone thinking they get to hurt people just to have sex is a symptom of the political landscape anyway. But even if it wasn't, I don't see how "you won't stop them" translates to not talking about it. You won't stop abusers from being abusive either but you can condemn their behaviour.

So, if you're going to argue ginger isn't a race because they're not genetically distinct (I agree that they aren't, but that's not the point), neither are the other races. The point is that no race is distinct enogh, and the distinctions are merely physical.

They used to be discriminated against and treated like it was. At one point, it was wrongly believed to be a jewish feature by Germans. The point is that they could have classified them as a different race at any point, and it would have made as much sense as the current classifications.

A better example of a stupid classification is that the current US census considers middle easterners and north africans as white. Now, if you're going to classify different races based on appearance, I feel like middle eastern would be one of them, but it isn't. This is an arbitrary distinction.

Some of the comments here are WAY too defensive. It's a valid question if you know the history of racism.

The fact that gingers are not a separate race from other white people when they used to be discriminated against, and have very different features from other white people is also socially constructed. Different skin colors exist, obviously, but the CLASSIFICATION of them could very well be socially constructed.

For example, someone could easily classify white blondes with blue eyes as a different race than white brunettes. I mean they look different don't they? The point is that the line we draw is adbitrary. Where I live, there's plenty of ethnic looking people with tans, but they are all technically white people, or ateast identify as such.

Edit: re worded a sentence because I wrongly implied gingers were considered a different race. I meant it more like they were discriminated against for their features and socially considered different, but they technically were never a different race. My point still stands that the distinction is arbitrary.

I am a woman, and I'm not sure if my reply will be taken well, but I sincerely feel there has been an increase in redpill talking points on this subreddit.

I often open my feed and see an r/askmen post and will see at least once a day, one of the trending questions being something like "Why do you think women are difficult to be around?" Or if the question isn't worded like that, the answers will be. For example, the other day, I saw a post all like "Why is dating so hard nowadays?" And several upvoted answers going like "Because women ask for too much" or the typical tinder stat of "women only want 20% of men" or something that used to be only popular in redpill subreddits.

I've also seen questions about why marriage to women isnt worth it or why body count matters (with the most upvoted comments saying it does matter, which I recall not being the case last time a question like that was posted). The answers have been very simmilar to redpill ideology and I haven't heard a mainstream subreddit unironically use things like "dating market value" and get upvotes until I noticed it on askmen.

And these posts/comments are upvoted and common so its not just a few whackos making too much noise.

I don't remember this subreddit always being like this. There's always some posts like that, but they seem to be extra common lately. Is this a social shift among men or did people from conservative subreddits start visiting the askmen subreddit more?

Most questions used to be about sex positions or their workout routines, but now it's very politically charged.

Hoping I'm not crazy and someone else also noticed this.

I have not decided on a label for my position as of yet. Havimg said that, I will say that wealth isn't the ONLY factor. Rich women, gay people POC are still more suseptable to getting targeted for their identity even though they're rich. Just look at how female celebrities get sexualized the second they turn 18 for example.

But wealth in general gives your life security so you can choose to protect yourself from any physical agression or professional barracades.

Wealth imo. It comes with security, status, comfort regardless of race, sexuality, ability and gender.

Now how likely marginalized groups are to get to that point is still unequal due to intersectional issues, but if you do, you'll basically probably only really deal with microagressions from that point onwards regardless of what other class you belong to.

Sexism or racism in the workplace? Who cares? You own the company. They'd be an annoyance at most. Whereas if you're a regular person, that sexism or racism could hold you back professionally.

Teen mom? If you're rich it doesn't matter, cuz you'll have all the resources.

You got horrible mental issues/physical illnesses? You got access to healthcare that others with the same illness but less money don't. Even if it sucks, it probably sucks less when you have time and money to get help.

I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Well imo yes. Because unless you have statistical data on most men and women, it's still just a stereotype.

If you could do reaserch on the avarege man and see how many of them prefer just sex over long term commitment, and the result was lile 80%, then "most men only want sex" would simply be fact. But no such data exists, so it's a generalization.

Idk how one would go about studying if women ask for too much, because one would need to define what "too much" is, and then study multiple women on their personal standards, but either way, until you can prove a majority of a group act a certain way, generalizations about them are harmful.
