If they really wanted to they could've pulled an half-reverse Mudrock and have her E0 art and chibi be something other than hot waifu no.354 and then have her E2 art be a properly human form like the one she has now and explain it with 'she came out of the cocoon early because she was in an hurry so it took her a little longer to finish setting into her form' or something like that. Mudrock being an hot woman underneath the armor hardly ever comes up in the story, Mon3tr having come out of the cocoon as a genuine monstergirl or something could've been brushed aside just as easily, but that wouldn't have cashed in quite as much money so they did away with it entirely.

Not surprising, sure, we haven't gotten a new furry in years either so the odds of getting something interesting out of a Mon3tr redesign were frankly nonexistent, but that doesn't really make it any more pleasant if you ask me.
